“Absolutely splendid!”

An incredibly comfortable and cozy welcome awaits you at Long Mountain. Personal touches and design are to be noticed from the first impression. We came by train and were welcomed by Mike at the station, going beyond the call of duty which was most appreciated. Nothing was too much trouble which in the frantic final preparations for a wedding attendence was once again most appreciated. Beautiful countryside setting, peaceful and relaxing. Most recommended.

Thank you Jennifer for your kind review and for taking time to complete it. Mike and I are really pleased that you enjoyed your stay and the local countryside.
We are happy to pick up guests from the station and give a lift into town whenever we can, we just want all of our guests to have an enjoyable and hassle free stay.

We do hope to see you both again in the future and, once again, thank you for your review.

If you are lucky enough to find there is a vacancy at Long Mountain then don’t delay.....book it while you can!

This is “premier” bed and breakfast accommodation. The standard of finish to the rooms is excellent and the quality of the bed linen and towels a very high standard. Instant hot water is available on demand, due to a sophisticated plumbing system, which is just one example of the considerable thought and attention that has been given to all the details of the accommodation.

The owners, Evelyn and Mike are very welcoming and will give you as much or as little time as you need. You are free to come and go without interruption and the hosts present and maintain Long Mountain to the high standards they have set for themselves. There is a lounge where you can relax and watch TV rather than in your own room should you prefer. In our case this was to watch the opening ceromony of the Olympic Games.

Breakfast choice is worthy of a good hotel. The quality probably considerably better!

A very peaceful location with far reaching views across to Welshpool and beyond which is about 5 minutes by car.

Overall we could not fault this excellent accommodation and the service that was provided by two most friendly hosts.

Room Tip: Fear not.....there is not a bad room among the three!

A friend and I stayed 2 nights here whilst walking the dyke. We were mainly looked after by Mike as Evelyn was away. The standard of accomodation and food is absolutely excellent BUT what really impressed us was that MIke went the extra distance and nothing was too much trouble. On arrival we were tired from walking Mike instantly produced coffee, tea and cake and we were enjoying this before our boots were off !!. We had left our car 12 miles down the dyke and Mike drove us to collect it. The next day he drove a similar distance to collect us at the end of the walking day and again produced tea and cakes as soon as we were back. He refused any sort of payment for running us around and we had to resort to leaving him a bottle of scotch.
We are cynical grumpy old, men. if we couldn't fault the place no one will.

This is a superb B&B. A beautiful modern room in a tranquil location, with views along the hills. although it is close to Welshpool the surroundings are very quiet and we had a peaceful night's sleep. No effort has been spared to achieve high quality, from the building construction itself down to the elegant crockery and cutlery, and the breakfast was very good. The bedroom was spacious and the large bath appreciated after a rainy day. There is also a comfortable lounge which doubles as the dining room - all furnished with great attention to detail. The welcome was equally warm from Evelyn and Mike, who both made us feel at home and were very attentive to our needs.

Room Tip: Two rooms have shower, one has a bath

An excellent place. Beautifully furnished, comfortable, clean rooms with lovely views about 1 mile from Welshpool. Very friendly owners who made us very welcome. Breakfast was delicious and freshly prepared to order. Will go again!

Room Tip: The shower waas excellent but only one room has a bath, if that matters to you.

My husband and our daughter and family were visiting wales in April. My brother who lives in Welshpool recommended the Long Mountain B&B.We checked it out on line and it looked really nice. When we arrived the Long Mountain far exceeded our expectations. The B&B is in a beautiful setting. All the rooms are clean, spacious, lovely furnishing, with more storage than you could ever need. Each bathroom either had a big glass shower,or tub shower.Besides the T.V in the rooms, the guest lounge had a big sofa comfy sofa and flat screen T.V.Every morning, fruit, yogurt and cold cereal was set out to get started. We all enjoyed Evelyn's full english breakfast(or was it Welsh?),we couldn't pass it up!Evelyn was so helpful, she really went the extra mile to make our stay the best.Since there were six of us,we had all three rooms, giving us the run of the place, making it feel like a real home away from home ,only better, none of us wanted to leave!Evelyn and Mike seemed like old friends when we did.We can truely say it was the best accommodation we have ever stayed in.

Hi, it's so nice to hear that you all enjoyed your stay with us and that it felt like a home away from home. We both enjoyed having you all stay with us and missed you when you left!

We do hope that you will be able to travel to Welshpool again in the future and in the meantime, I'm sure we will receive updates from your brother about the girls' school progress and activities.

Many thanks

We stayed here with two friends while walking a section of Offas Dyke in May 12. The rooms were comfortable and spotless. Breakfast each day was lovely, a packed lunch is available and home made cakes were waiting for us when we returned each day. Evelyn even supplied a wine cooler!! There is a lovely guest lounge with superb views. We all agreed this is one of the best B & B's we have stayed at. Our four friends who stayed at an hotel in Welshpool were very envious of how well we were looked after. Looking forward to a return visit in July.
