I live 20 minutes away from this pub but have not been in for some years, having read some recent reviews I decided to visit for Sunday lunch. The place was in darkness due to a power cut caused by the severe weather but this did not dampen the experience. The menu was varied with a wide choice, I chose the roast lamb which melted in the mouth and was full of flavour, it was served with separate, imaginative vegetable dishes. The food was superb as was the service, all the staff were polite and attentive and this establishment is professional and well run. On this wet Sunday all the tables were full with several parties waiting, the landlady having to politely turn people away.
Add a classic thatched Devon building in a lovely setting, it is well worth a visit.More
