“A Fantastic B&B”
Reviewed September 21, 2011

We enjoyed our stay at Murtagh's B&B and Crossmaglen. The room was very comfortable indeed. The Breakfast was fantastic. Thanks! The people in the town were very friendly. Our only problem was we didn't stay long enough.

We visited Crossmaglen to visit good friends who arranged our accommodation with Aiden beforehand. When we arrived at the B&B we received a warm welcome & were told we could have breakfast in the mornings when we were ready, in order to sleep in, take it easy etc.

The rooms were very comfortable & met all our expectations & more.

Aiden was a fantastic host & would answer all of your questions if you had any. He talked about the history of Crossmaglen & was helpful if you needed information.

Crossmaglen is a beautiful town, is a very interesting place to visit & it has a wonderful community. I would come here again & since it's my 3rd time visiting I am not bored
already!

We booked for 1 night and arrived at 10pm after a journey from England via Rosslare.
We had a drink in the bar and asked where we could get something to eat. The barmaid said that the pizza shop was still open and they did a range of foods. She gave us a menu and said she would ring the order through and fetch it when ready. This she did and then fetched us plates and salt, vinegar etc. to eat it with. You can't beat that if you are expecting a cheese sandwich at best!
The rooms were very comfortable and the breakfast marvellous. Aidan gave us a lot of information about the area and was most friendly and helpful.
Crossmaglen is a good place to stay for visiting the border area as it is now only minutes from the M1 motorway.

It's an amazing place to stay. Aiden is a laugh. Bar downstairs with friendly people in and out of the bar. So relaxing, no one forces you up early or anything. Would recomment this B&B

Stayed for 2 nights in Murtagh's B&B. Aidan the owner made us feel especially welcome and chatted away. Each morning a good big fry up was prepared for us in next to no time. Murtagh's is centrally located in the town of Crossmaglen - good spot to base yourself if you want to travel to places like Dundalk (in the Republic of Ireland) and Newry (in Northern Ireland). Crossmaglen has made in the headlines in years past because of its political background, but would highly recommend a stay in the town and most definately in Murtagh's B & B. I'll be back to stay.
