Went for an early evening meal on a Saturday night with the family for a special occasion. The decor is nice and the staff seemed friendly enough at first. Unfortunately, a drinks order wasn't taken until we were ready to order our meals which seemed a bit odd as this is a pretty basic formality in this trade. This really set the tone for the evening. The drinks arrived in reasonable time however, the waitress did place them on our table by holding the glass by the rim in which we drink from which surely isn't the most hygienic thing in the world. My mums starter then arrived (mussels) which were very tasty indeed. The main courses arrived in good time and we're very well presented. I had the fish platter which is fantastic value for money, it takes a brave man to finish it! All the fish was cooked to perfection, leaving us all full and very satisfied. I do feel for the chefs who are producing such high quality food as they are been let down by those presenting it. The young waitress was by far the best member of staff. Not sure how the manageress found herself in such a position but that is where the business is going wrong. And also couldn't get my head around the man in the corner polishing cutlery all night long? Felt like I was in an episode of fawlty towers. Will visit again simply for the food. The service needs a lot of work but it is a place with a lot of potential.
