The Cathedral is highly visible in Ripon - as you would expect and the entrance is right in the middle near the shops but it extends to the river too. Worth a walk right round the outside for the many views. I was passed a leaflet when I entered the building which gave details on the things to look for and a brief history. The Quoir Stalls have wood carvings and the last seat has a hare that inspired Lewis Carrol to write Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. There is a library upstairs but there is a fee for this £1. The cript is open to the public too and worth a visit. Impressive building and notice the new glass doors.
