I stayed here with my Nan for August bank holiday for a girlie weekend away. We stayed in the cabin to your left as you come in.. Inside wasn't too bad but definitely not worth the money.. Spider webs everywhere, it looked as thought nobody had cleaned it thoroughly for years, the hot tub looked like it had just dropped from space, totally out of place. The 'bbq' left for us at the bottom of the garden was just a slab of concrete... The reception at the place was like a porta cabin toilet and Never anybody there.. They charged us for an extra person staying as they saw my partners car when he picked us up on the Monday...there was nowhere for him to sleep anyway even If he wanted to stay!!

It's absolutely shocking at the prices they charge to stay here, no idea where the pictures are from as our cabin certainly looked nothing like the pics...

The best part of the trip was the day out in Ripon so I'd recommend to save your money and get a B&B as it'll be much nicer than here...although can't imagine it can get much worse. Hoseasons should be embarrassed! Will never book anywhere with them again!

All lodges have been refurbished to a very high standard. Our lodge Hornblower was spacious and clean, and had a patio and a small garden. The site is small , and although not far from the main road is quiet and peaceful. The owner, Rod, is friendly, and supplied us with a towel for no extra charge as we didn't realize they are not provided. The hot tub was a bonus and we enjoyed using it. , Contrary to recent reviews , Wi Fi is available and the password is detailed in the file provided. We could not find any faults with this lodge and feel previous negative reviews are unjustified. We recommend this site and will be returning soon.

Room Tip: Try to book a lodge with a river view.

Booked a lodge at riverside lodges last minute for fathers day and we weren't disappointed at all. Noticed a few reviews on here the day before we left that complained about cleanliness and the owners attitude which to be honest I really cant see where these people were coming from. We were booked to stay in the Wensleydale but there was a problem with the hot tub so Rod moved us next door which was great. We had a couple of issues with light bulbs and the internet not working but this was sorted out straight away. There was a welcome book with taxi numbers places to visit and eat etc in the lodge which was very helpful. The kitchen was well equipped and the living room was spacious with 2 comfortable settees, tv and freeview. The beds were very comfortable again no complaints. Will definitely be staying again.

We have just returned from Riverside Lodges, and had a fabulous stay in the Cathederal Lodge. We could not fault anything, we were met by Rod who couldn't do enough to help, he showed us everything we needed to know, then left us a contact number incase we needed anything. We was 6 of us, 3 couples, and the lodge was so spacious, the hot tub was amazing, and the Wi-Fi did work too. On our arrival the hot tub was being re filled, but was to temperature by 7 o'clock, also the bbq was all set up ready to use. I don't know how anyone could fault the riverside lodges , as we had the best time ever, and would defiantly recommend to anyone.. we look forward to returning in the future. Thanks Rod!!

As previously mentioned no wifi as advertised, cabins are okay, but plenty room for improvement. To be honest a three star review is being generous. Very narrow road to cabins, with poor visibility. Ripon itself is okay, with usual mix of restaurants and shops.
