I know this restaurant only, not the rooms or bar.
The food is good, presented in a fine style.
My only problem was that the young serving staff was a little inexperienced and brought the wrong dishes to the wrong tables several times. They solved it promptly and nicely, but it should not really happen.
Otherwise, it is really worth visiting for a festive occasion.

Had a lovely lunch with family and chose from the early bird menu. We were not disappointed.

Would definitely eat here again. Ideally situated on the approach to Ripon from the A1 Boroughbridge Road and half mile before you get to the race-course.

Clean and nicely done out pub/restaurant with good service and quality food. Reasonable prices and a good atmosphere. Busy on a lunch-time says it all.

Also saw that there are rooms to let and cleverly marketed with an open door for a quick nosey in - looked V nice - picture attached.

Hope to visit again soon :)

We recently spent a night at the Blackamoor Inn and I let Amanda know in advance that we were celebrating my brother-in-law's birthday. After receiving a very warm welcome, we were shown to our small, but well-equipped and spotlessly clean bedrooms. We then went for a quick sight seeing tour of Ripon, Pateley Bridge and Brimham Rocks before coming back to the Blackamoor for dinner. Amanda had dressed our table with a birthday banner, balloons and a complimentary bottle of wine, which was a lovely touch. We then went on to have a truly delicious meal - the seafood pancake was the best ever tasted and the homemade beef & onion pie and jam roly poly were to die for. All our food was served piping hot by really friendly staff and the portion sizes were very generous.

Breakfast the next day was equally as good - plentiful and beautifully cooked using top quality local produce.

All in all, our expecations were truly exceeded and Amanda, Andrew, Jake and the rest of the staff all went out of their way to make our stay a memorable one. I would have no hesitation in recommending a visit to the Blackamoor Inn.

Superb inn in a fantastic location and excellent value for money. We received a very warm and friendly welcome from Amanda, who is a dynamic little ball of energy and fun. The place is absolutely immaculate from top to bottom (all done by Amanda - does she ever sleep?!) and the service was excellent (Amanda again - amongst other lovely girls) The food is absolutely first class, cooked by Amanda's husband Andrew. If this place were closer to where we live in the South, we would be eating there every week as we do not have any restaurants locally that come anywhere close to the quality of the food we ate at the Blackamoor. Thank you also for putting up balloons and a banner in honour of my husband's 60th birthday celebration - very much appreciated!

Room Tip: The room we stayed in was small but immaculately clean. I don't know if there are bigger ones...

Our first visit here under the new owners. The pub was warm due to a lovely fire and looked much cleaner and brighter than before. We chose from the early bird menu. The food was very good, served on hot plates and very good value for money, Service was swift and friendly. We will certainly return.

Visited today for the second time, the first time we had the early bird 3 courses, the choice was good but the portions were a little small. Having said that, after having the 3 courses we had eaten enough. The service was good and the young man serving was very pleasant.
On today's visit we ate from the normal menu and received generous portions of everything we ordered and thoroughly enjoyed it.
The only downside to both our visits were we were seated at the first table as you go up the steps, the two young girls waiting on seem to hang about against the sideboard which houses the till. Each time they have been discussing what's been happening at college, my husband and I have found it very off putting to have them both stand there just watching us whilst we are eating.
Other than this the pub is beautiful with a lovely welcoming atmosphere.
