Lovely place to be!! Lovely new play area has just been built my 2 year old spent ages on this!! Nice to see a new building being worked on that will enable children to to pet the animals. The animals are really looked after and have heaps of space!! The biggest thing that stuck out for me is the farm has volunteers/workers helping at the farm. One of the workers had additional needs , my little boy went over asked if he could help and off they went feeding the chickens he let my little one scoop the feed into the coop, it was lovely to see i know you wouldnt get this type of customer service in many places with a tolerance to a two year demanding every minure "let me do it". Lovely place for a picnic and a stroll

Freezing cold and damp. Not really the right choice of day to take our almost three year old grandson on his second visit to this farm park....but what an excellent visit we had. All the animals appear well looked after by the friendly staff and are only too keen to be patted and fed. We had two bags of food which was plenty. My wife loved the goats, the grandson loved the pigs as well as the excellent climbing frames and my favourite was thr Ja Ja binks look alike llama.
Lots of hand washing facilities around the place and clean, if cold, toilets.. Lots of picnic opportunities but we used the warmth of the car. Most importantly proper mugs in the cafe.

Although a working farm (like other farm parks), this attraction was over-priced for what it is, and not as good as other farm parks in the area.

- tea-room just a barn with hardly any sandwiches/food
- lack of proper paths in muddy areas
- health and safety issues with: the sand-pit, trampoline dangerous (parts missing/falling off)
-needs a play area without stones underneath!, wood chip is better for safety.

Animals appeared well looked after though.

Took an 8 year old to Matlock Farm Park and he thoroughly enjoyed it, particularly the pony rides. We were there for 4-5 hours and could easily have stayed longer if it hadn't been so cold. I agree that this is a place to visit on a dry day as there would not be enough to do if raining. (They are currently building an indoor activity area/cafe).

There are plenty of animals to see and feed that are all gentle enough for small children. The play areas contain enough equipment to keep children happy. The "café" is limited so until the new part opens I would recommend taking your own picnic.
