Just literally unpacked from a weekend away with my girlfriend at Glendon. It was a Birthday treat and what a treat! Never been to Peak District so Girlfriend picked this as our base. I'll admit she did try other places but so glad they were booked. On arrival we met Damian who was brilliant. Graet pot of tea and cake (wish we didnt pull over for a cheeky BK on the way to sample) after we left our bags. We stayed int he 4 poster bed room which was stunning. In the rooms there are plenty of guides and I was immediately fascinated to learn the history of Knowleston Place. Breakfast was superb with cooked and fresh options. On Saturday i had the full English and sunday the Eggs Benedict. All were incredibly filling and was lovely.
Best thing about the trip was the interpersonal service. The host and owner took time to get to know us and give us the guidance we needed for the area. Incidentally, because of the room guides, we visited Pooles Cavern in Buxton this morning simply because of the literature.
Definitely going to comeback and pass as much business to them as I can! Dont pay peanuts for crappy Travelodges - pay for comfort and service!More
