“Robertswood Country House, Matlock is 'Simply the Best'”
Reviewed March 11, 2011

We have stayed at Robertswood Country House, Matlock several times over the past four years and would highly recommend a stay here. David & Marilyn are excellent, entertaining and very friendly hosts and make you feel at home. Marilyn's cooking is superb. The house and rooms are of an excellent standard and always spotlesslyy clean. We have already booked our stay for 2011 and look forward to another pleasurable and enjoyable stay.

We've just had a very successful family get together at the Robertswood - excellent food (and huge quantities). Very welcoming hosts with friendly, but not intrusive, service.
Rooms very comfortable and well equipped. Lounge and bar area are very comfortable with a large range of DVDs, games etc.
Highly recommended

We arrived on the Friday afternoon to a warm reception from David and Marylyn, the owners. We had a lovely room with views across the valley to Riber Castle.
Breakfasts are a real treat with plenty of options and the full english consisits of good quality local produced eggs, bacon and sausages. On the Saturday night we had an evening meal so that we could both enjoy wine without driving as we were celebrating a birthday and that too was, excellent.
David and Marylyn made us feel very much at home and we had some great conversations with them in the bar each evening.
It is certainly somewher we would recommend to others visiting the area and somewhere we hope to return to in the future.

Stayed four nights at Robertswood and would certainly return. The hosts are very friendly and make you feel at home. Stayed in room 2( superking bed) very comfortable with good views . Breakfast is excellent offering plenty of choice. Location is very quiet, ideal for a relaxing evening sat in the garden with a drink from the reasonably priced bar. A good selection of wines were available. This is one of the best B&B's we have stayed in for overall friendliness, comfort and value.Only negative, for television fans is the is no digital in the area yet, but David has a large collection of dvds and these are available to watch in the lounge or your room.

Had a wonderful two night stay at Robertswood Country House over Easter. David and Marilyn are the perfect hosts and the accommodation has every comfort imaginable. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the views stunning and breakfast in the morning was amazing. The in house bar served really good wine which was very reasonably priced and Marilyn even did a load of washing for us. What service!

Robertswood is one of those places that you feel really pleased to have discovered. Our room was immaculate and our hosts could not have put themselves out more - so friendly and welcoming. We did not rate Matlock as highly but it didn't matter because the accommodation is something you'd go back to. We took the evening meal option and would recommend it: cooked with a real personal touch to a very high standard it rounded off the day perfectly.
