“New Year 40th Birthday”
Reviewed January 3, 2018 for a stay in December 2017

Absolutely perfect in every way. Arrived very easily with the owner waiting to hand over the keys. The home was warm and very clean. 6 Adults and 4 children stayed for 4 nights. We had ample space especially with the two lounges so the children could really have their own space too. The location was perfect a walk to the shops, beautiful walks over the fields and fabulous local pubs.
The house was full of everything we needed especially to cook huge meals for 10, lots of equipment, without needing to wash up immediately.
The underfloor heating was also another lovely touch that we don’t have at home.

“Fantastic House”
Reviewed December 6, 2016 for a stay in December 2016

As a group of 7 women who meet once a year we chose Fairfield House because we wanted somewhere within walking distance of the town of Bakewell. It took us 15 mins to walk down 20 mins coming back (slight incline) which was great. The house has everything you could wish for. We loved the huge rooms especially the kitchen/dining/sitting room where we could all fit comfortably. We didn't need to use the front sitting room. We just loved this house, it is the nicest we have been to over the last 7 years. Helen was lovely and let us arrive earlier then we should have which was really great. Definitely would visit again. Thank you

“A lovely house handy for Bakewell”
Reviewed September 26, 2016 for a stay in September 2016

This house was lovely and clean, well equipped, perfect for us ,our grown up children and grandchildren!
The kitchen was the heart of the house large and roomy. Plenty of worktops and we're all seated together to eat!
The bedrooms were tastefully decorated and beds very comfortable.
The garden was large, the grandchildren played out and the grown ups sat at the top enjoying the view.
It took about 15mins to walk down to Bakewell, which was lovely.
Would recommend this house for family get together's.

“Amazing Stay ”
Reviewed July 11, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

We have just returned from a long weekend at Fairfield House to celebrate a number of family birthdays. As soon as we all arrived we fell in love with the house and enjoyed the evening sun on the lovely decking area with great views of the countryside. The house was a lot bigger than expected and with 8 adults and 3 very young children we all enjoyed our own space. Everything was provided for us including items we weren't expecting such as foil, clingfilm and sandwich bags. I think the only thing we couldn't find was a cheese grater! Only 15 mins walk into Bakewell and on the doorstep of some amazing countryside; Fairfield House is a great place to call home while exploring the Peak District. The only downside was having to come home. Thank you to the owners and to Peak Venues - we will definitely be returning!

“To Fairfield with Love”
Reviewed May 7, 2016 for a stay in May 2016

What Fairfield lacks in exterior pizazz, it certainly makes up for in interior style.
It's location is ideal for exploring the sites and surrounding areas, like Chatsworth, Haddon Hall, Buxton, Ashbourne, Matlock and so many more of the area's surrounding pretty villages and towns.

The property was very clean on arrival, tastefully decorated and the rear kitchen and family room gave the impression of space and practical comfort. Although we did not use the utility room, for anyone hiking or biking it was very well equipped. The garden was a wonderful addition, although the British weather only allowed us limited use.

For a large group of adults (7), it would have been more beneficial to have larger sofa's or seating areas in the front room, as the sofa's were more suited to formal posture rather than comfort at the end of a day's sightseeing. The mattresses on the bed were amazingly comfortable and every single one of our party commented on the excellent night's sleep due mainly to the comfort of the mattress.

The owners were accommodating and responsive as we had no internet coverage in the property, which probably said more about us than them, as we didn't want to phone them up to raise the issue on Saturday, believing it was to do with location signals rather than in fact a practical issue of their change of use provider. Our fault entirely, as we were asked to contact them if anything was amiss. We should have, as they could not have been more responsive and timely in fixing the problem once raised (20 minute turnaround time).

The kitchen was well equipped for a group of food fantics and there were plenty of cleaning supplies and fantastic instructions on all of the household appliances, as well as a comprehensive list along with links, of things to do in the area for all tastes and ages.

I would definitely stay there again to explore the beautiful and enchanting area in more detail.
Highly recommended.
Thank you to our owners and Peak Venues.

“From 9 to 90, no-one wanted to leave.....”
Reviewed May 2, 2016 for a stay in April 2016

We booked this accommodation to celebrate my mother's 90th birthday together, four generations under one roof for almost four days. The website and previous reviews promised much and none of us was disappointed. It was very obvious from the moment we arrived that someone with a keen eye for detail and hugely sensitive to the needs of families on holiday had created a virtual home from home.
The house was warm, welcoming, logically laid out and tastefully decorated. The beds were supremely comfortable and the layout gave us that essential ground floor bedroom for mother while the great grandsons enjoyed the delights of the bunk beds.
When Monday morning arrived, all too soon, nobody wanted to be the first to leave and by common consent, we will be back! Would we recommend it to friends? Of course not! If it becomes too popular there wiill be less chance we will find it vacant when we want it.....
