Whilst attempting to climb the hill to the tea room I became unwell and had to rest.My wife and friends continued uphill to place an order for tea and cakes and I would join them when I felt better I tried to continue uphill without success when Mark from the Tea room arrived to transport me up the hill in his car. When I arrived I did not have an appetite but seeing the quality of the cakes I was tempted. The cakes are to die for and I nearly did. Mark did offer to take us back to Bakewell but we decided to continue on foot. Karen and Mark have lovely hospitality Brilliant cakes and more than good value.Thank you again for your kindness and hospitality. I have been in hospital since so I can be well enough to return to sample some more cake.

The location of the tea room is simply stunning, on the top level of a tiered garden overlooking a tranquil wooded valley. The owners, Karen and Mark, made us feel like old friends. We had a
good chat while the refreshments were being prepared.

A range of delicious cakes were on offer along with excellent tea and coffee. The proprietor's lovely dogs protected us from squirrels whilst we ate!! We would recommend this tea room to anyone. We are hoping to move into the area shortly and will certainly make this our local tea room.
