Stayed here one night B&B. Hotel is pleasant enough on the surface, well located, quiet and welcoming enough. But room wasn't clean (fingernals on carpet from previous resident, dirty tissues by / under bed) and impossible to get hot water flow for shower. Queried the latter and was told by the reception guy "oh, thanks we're well aware of that, it's a problem throughout the hotel" which was kind of amusing for its honesty / naivety as a response. Definitely would not stay here again and would have complained much more loudly had it been more than a one night stay.

They have a really good chef here and our dinner was really good. This is a traditional hotel and one of the benefits is that you can conduct conversation easily, because it is sot all hard surfaces. The service is good too.

Very nice Georgian building. Lovely outside and very nice interiors. Rooms were fine and clean - nothing extraordinary or worthy of complaint. The staff were a little unwelcoming in my opinion. Weren't particularly friendly on arrival and got completely cold shouldered during breakfast times. Lady on reception who was perhaps from The Netherlands was fine and the Asian gentlemen in the dining room - again fine and pleasant. The other staff seemed to only want to please the elderly people staying. Noticed the staff made conversation with them at breakfast but not with me. Felt snobbery was on the agenda and one big bald fellow looked at me with a right unplesant look. Great spot, nice building, snobby staff! Let down by this. Glad I didn't pay and my company did!

We all enjoyed the food and all went for different food off the menu, all cooked beautifully. Would highly recommend and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Will be back again for sure.

Spent 3 nights in the courtyard area of the Rutland Arms. The room was reasonably sized with a comfortable bed. However, there was no fresh air or air conditioning and the room was very stuffy. Also, there was very little or no pressure on the shower, though there was plenty of hot water.
The main hotel seemed nicer, and the breakfast was very good.
The staff were very helpful, which was a plus point.
