We stayed at the Hollow on the recommendation of a friend - and hope to be able to spread the word. The house is beautiful, with spacious comfortable and incredibly light rooms. It felt like home from home (without the clutter!). The house is perfectly located for numerous and varied walks mostly starting from the bottom of the garden, so we didn't need to use the car once during our stay. The food was exeptionally high quality and it seemed home made where at all possible, and the amazing breakfast set us up for the rest of the day! Dawn was a brilliant host, and happy to help make our stay as perfect as possible (and to supply recipes so that I can hopefully recreate her beautiful homemade biscuits at home!!). We found parking adjacent to the Hollow, without any difficulty. We ate at the Packhorse Inn (just over the road) and can confirm another reviewer - you need to book! We loved our long weekend at this beautiful B&B and plan a return visit to recharge our batteries.

Room Tip: There are three bedrooms and we noted that one of the rooms had a bed with head and foot boards - not ours. As a tall couple we would always avoid such beds - but just personal preference.

A great place which ticked ALL our boxes for a peaceful winter weekend.Although the weather was freezing this was definitely the best place to be with roaring fires that welcomed us morning and evening.
The food was wonderful and set us up for a days walking.very diet was catered for with delicious homemade cranberry muffins (I requested a goodie bag of them to take home).

Nothing was too much trouble for Dawn and her family with every attention to detail. The house was ideally placed for pubs and walking wished we could have stayed longer.

Thank you

The Hollow is a Grade 2 listed Edwardian House. Everything about the Tea Rooms is special - from the surroundings, to the attention to detail, to the friendly and personal service, to the locally-sourced and home-prepared food. We are local to the area but have only just happened across The Hollow - we hope to make many return journeys and cannot recommend it highly ehough. An excellent start (or end) to lovely walks around Monsal Head or Bakewell or along the (now fully opened) Monsal Trail and within 10 minutes drive of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall.

Ours was an absolutely lovely large room overlooking the garden and fields beyond. The location is delightfully quiet and the bed very comfy. Dining room for breakfast (or teas) is charming, and breakfast couldn't be faulted. Weather permitting it is worth spending a few minutes exploring the very colourful cottage garden at the rear and the vegie garden to the side. Not far from the Monsal Trail.

Lovely B&B, comfortable rooms and spacious bathroom. Breakfast is out of this world, could hardly move after, the owner puts in a lot of effort. The only problem is that noise really carries, so you have to be very mindful of other guests. Otherwise, superb, highly recommended for a short break.
