“Good food but too long a wait”
Reviewed April 8, 2013 via mobile

This plavevis really nice and has lovely food but you can wait ages just to be served then you still have to wait fervour food to be cooked. the staff are friendly enough just would be nice for it to have a bit of a better atmosphere.

“Great food, terrible service.”
Reviewed March 15, 2013

What a shame.
We went there for lunch, while we re waiting to be seated, the waitress s speaking with a lady so after 10 minutes we tried to get her attention, really rude she said "take a seat!!"
We ordered our food - 2 gourmet burgers and 2 coke - food was great...but we're still waiting for the drinks, yes she forgot to serve our cokes and we were offered no apology, she said I m busy" .

Next time we ll go for the takeaway...
terrible and really rude service

“Friendly and Tasty!”
Reviewed November 3, 2012

We popped in here to get a cup of coffee and something to eat on a freezing cold Saturday morning. We found the staff to be friendly and attentive, the hot chocolate was hot and very good, and the Bakewell puddings tasty ( if a bit too sweet for me, but that's simply personal choice). I certainly didn't experience any of the negative aspects as described by previous reviewers, and would go back if in the area again. To be fair, it's not somewhere I would consider for a special meal, but it's perfectly adequate for a drink and snack whilst in town!

“Avoid at all costs! worst establishment ever visited!!!”
Reviewed August 22, 2012

I have never experiencfed anything like this! We waited an hour for 2 meals, to be told after asking numerous times for an explanation that only one meal had been cooked! Would we like to share a meal in the middle of our table... ? We certainly did not want to share a roast dinner between 2 of us! We asked for a refund to be greeted by a young waiter and surly chef who had 2 meals with him. After I enquired how long one had been ready, after previously being told one had been cooked a while ago I was told one was hot and one was cold and had been prepared over 30 minutes and waiting on the kitchen side!! Worst of all after confirming our dismay at this we were thrown out of the restaurant - yes thrown out after having the nerve to complain! we were shouted at by the chef in front of other diners and told by members of staff that some staff were in tears after the chef had shouted at them also. Myself and my 65 year old mother have never been treated so badly and would tell everyone to stay away at all costs! It nearly ruined our days in Bakewell ... utterly disgusting!!!
