Arriving to the smell of freshly baked bread and a friendly greeting from the owners set the scene for our stay. The guest house is ideally suited for exploring the Peaks - there are lots of walks to be had right on the doorstep.
We found the guest house to be above average due to the small extras that all added up to make it a great experience. From the sachets of hot chocolate, fresh milk for coffee/tea when we arrived and jars of cookies in each room to the toiletries left for us to use they were all lovely touches. What made this place different from others we've stayed in is the fact that it is so homely with some gorgeous artwork/photo's around the place. It really did feel like Madeline and Louis were inviting you into their home.
There was a large choice of food available at breakfast and all well which should suit most people including vegetarians like me. The rooms were spacious, clean and bright. The en suite facilities were of a good quality with the big bath perfect for after a day on the hills.
Our trip was cut short but I am sure that we'll return to Bakewell and would stay here again without hesitation.More
