Booked a table for 16 for my birthday lunch today. Everyday food (sandwiches, jacket potato, burgers, plough mans, etc) but served at a quality that is surprisingly rare! Lovely setting, good service, great food. A great place for a walk and lunch/coffee and cake.

Been here lots since it opened..
Whether it's simply for coffee and cake or lunch on the move this is one of my wife and my favourites..

The atmosphere and the good is second to none.. It is really reasonably priced and is all proper home cooked produce..

I recommend this to all my family and friends.. Well worth a visit..

A lovely, spacious cafe with an extensive and delicious menu any time of the day, and for any reason - coffee, lunch, afternoon tea. The food is fresh and varied, the staff efficient and pleasant. There is plenty of room with tables of differing sizes not crowded together so conversations are not overheard by the next table! Children are welcome and there is a gift shop and book shop to browse around, so well worth the stop. A clean and attractive place with art on the walls.

Called into the bookshop and stayed for lunch. Glad we did as it was great value for money and one of the best burgers I've tasted for a long time (home made with bacon and cheese). My wife had quiche which was home made and delicious.

No wonder the car park was full!

Popped in for family lunch (for 4) on New Years Day.Superb.
We had the soup/sandwich offer,mackerel salad,a tuna melt,bacon barm,and teas.
All clearly home cooked,very nice.
The soup with a huge tuna sandwich at £6.25 is good value, especially after a bike ride on the Monsal Trail, and more so given the wife paid for it too ! (:-)
