Went today and had an excellent meal on a voucher deal. Staff treated us very nicely, and didn't bat an eyelid at the voucher, whereas other places I have visited have occasionally treated one like a second class citizen on production of voucher rather than hard cash. Would definitely go again. Huge portions, so when a doggy bag was asked for , again no problem, and service with a smile

Others have made mention of the quality of the food available at this establishment about which I have no complaint. Whilst there is adequate parking available in the vicinity those requiring specific provision for people with disabilities will find the dedicated spaces lamentable.

There are just two; poked into the most difficult to access corner of the car park. There is only one delineated transfer area (between the two spaces) so many will not have a choice as to whether to go in forwards or backwards, and, especially during busy periods, the more inconsiderate of the cyclists who infest this facility find it convenient to dump their bikes in one of them.

Perhaps if the owners hadn't chosen to erect a handy fence alongside the space, this wouldn't happen so regularly.

We use the cafe on a regular basis with my elderly mother and, during the last week or so, the management has decided to reposition one of its display stands. Unfortunately, this is several inches longer than the space available and it is no longer possible to fully open the door.

If you ever drive passed then take the time to drop in and have a look. They have a pleasant bookshop and gift shop then go into the cafe to enjoy a nice drink and something to eat. I have been going there for many years and have never been disappointed with the quality of the food. Dogs are not allowed in the cafe but outside you can sit under a large canopy area away from bad weather if its raining. There is further outside seating if the sun is shining. Before leaving you can hire a bike and take a ride on the old railway path or just walk if you prefer. Picnic tables are provided if you take your own sandwiches. Its perfect for families, dog owners, hikers and bikers. Its a place where you can just drop in for a short visit or spend a day. Down the road is the nearby town of Bakewell. Old or young, 4 legs or 2 legs everyone is catered for.

As a stop-off for the walker in need of refreshment, the Hassop Station Cafe is a welcome sight but keep a tight hold o'yer wallet as this place is expensive, especially if you want to eat. The tea and coffee aint cheap either!

In recent years, what was an excellent bookshop has been given over to expensive retro-style gift shops, gaudy paintings of cows faces and large space for ladies who lunch.

Most of the staff appear to be students who always seem preoccupied when I go there with my father-in-law and have "shoot-me" written all over them.

five of us had lunch on a sunny and very busy Friday afternoon. Plenty of seating inside and out. Staff very helpful, offering an alternative when the quiche my elderly mother ordered had run out. large portions of food served. Salad served with meal rather bland - needed dressing to liven it up. Pots of tea were rather small and on the dear side. Overall though, enjoyable in a lovely location.
