Great old station, lovely setting from here you can hire a bike and ride the Monsal Trail which used to be a lovely tranquil pedestrian walk until somebody started hiring bikes out!!??

“Excellent Coffee stop on the Monsal Trail”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 15, 2013

If you're walking along the monsal trail, this cafe at Hassop is just the ticket. They sell a range of food from soup, to main courses, there's a good choice of cakes and drinks. The bright airy rooms of the old station are great. There's also a book shop and small shop attached. A welcome break from the rain.

“A great cafe with a fine selection of local grub”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 27, 2013

We had lunch here and it was very good. Local produce was evident, and the pork pie was great - I personally prefer more jelly but some don't! The ham was off the bone and very tasty, although the cold beef was merely average. Great pickled onions and tasty coleslaw. My only wish would have been for some pickle of chutney to accompany the (generous portion) meat platter. We will return in the summer to enjoy the spacious outdoor areas and enjoy some sustenance after some walking in the local area.

“An excellent place for a gentle stroll, a cup of tea and maybe even a bike ride.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 24, 2013 via mobile

Stunning walk from Hassop station, towards Monsal dale. Ideal for all ages as the main path follows the old railway line. The more adventurous can head off on the many paths branching from the main route. The path leads through the newly open and well lit tunnels through to the beautiful Monsal dale viaduct.

You can hire bikes from Hassop station and fill up on cake and tea as required. Interesting book shop and gift shop too. A lovely day out for humans and dogs alike.

“Lovely”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 24, 2013 via mobile

Although I know the monsal trail and Bakewell it is the first time I have visited the cafe. My husband, dog and I visited yesterday as a pit stop although we had to sit outside because of our four legged companion it was surprisingly comfortable. We had only lattes and sausage sandwichs but they we're lovely. The granary "bun" I would say bread cake but that's a Sheffield thing, was lovely and so were the sausages. All food that I saw coming from the kitchen looked nice quality home cooked rustic food. Will definately visit again.
