“yummy afternoon tea”
Reviewed May 3, 2014

I have been out for a few afternoon teas with friends and my husband was feeling left out so we decided to go to bakewell and found this lovely little cafe. The tea consisted of sandwiches, scone with jam and clotted cream and three types of cake/traybake and of course tea or coffee. The service was quick and friendly and the food was scrumptious.

“Brunch!”
Reviewed April 21, 2014 via mobile

Went in during a small wander around Bakewell today on our way back from Darwin Country Forest! Lots of places to choose from but chose this as it had a free table in the window. Was served super quickly and both food and drinks arrived just as fast.
The coffee is good and the Goats cheese, walnut, grape and honey sandwich I had was gorgeous. Came on a huge granary roll with salad, crisps and coleslaw. The boyfriend had a sausage and bacon cob with a latte. Not a meat eater myself but he said the sausages were good!
Took a slice of the coconut and chocolate cornflake cake home with me as well which I've just devoured and enjoyed very much! Haha

“New owner - backward step”
Reviewed March 8, 2014 via mobile

Been a regular for many years. Recently changed owners - no where near as good......shame really!! Beef and horseradish sand which was horrible packet beef, stale bread and ready washed packet leaves from day before.

“Reasonable café”
Reviewed February 14, 2014

Dropped in for a coffee on a miserable Friday morning.
Located in the town centre, small at the front but with more room at the back.
Ordered tea, coffee and a piece of flapjack. All for a fiver.
Service was excellent. Coffee was okay and the flapjack sweet and sticky.
Could have done without the intrusive radio being on.
My wife noticed that the seats were nice and comfortable.
It was as good as it should have been with no obvious faults.
