fantastic accommodation, in a great location with great views and tasteful decor. we will definitely consider staying again.
The pictures of sleep lodge do not do it justice and I prepared myself to see 1950's architecture and was very pleased to find the complete opposite.

We have had two lovely stays at the Sleep Lodge now. It's the perfect base from which to explore the Peak District.

Rooms are clean and spacious, with tea and coffee making facilities. Lovely big king-size bed and walk in shower room.

Make sure you take advantage of the 25% off deal that the Sleep Lodge has with the local Italian restaurant!

My girlie friend and I stayed in the Ranulph Fiennes room at the Sleep Lodge's (ground floor) for one night last week (MARCH 2012) and had a very comfortable and pleasant stay. The location is perfect for exploring Bakewell (5 min walk into the centre of town down a steep gennel) and also very peaceful.

We were met by a lovely lady who gave us our key and showed us to the room. It's all very relaxed and we were told not to feel like we should rush out for check out in the morning which is nice and rare!

The room is very modern and has a slight boutique feel. We had 2 twin beds, very comfy, a good sized bathroom with shower and bath and a nice kitchenette (as the accom is self catering). It's a very good, clean little base to explore the Peak District. Ihad seen on here that another couple had stayed in the same lodge and had found the bathroom had a few "quirks" and unfortunately these had not been fixed (unsteady toilet, broken plug stopper) but that was the only negative.

For the price, this was good accommodation and i would definitely recommend to my friends in the future. It made a change to stay in a self catering apartment.

Room Tip: The Ranulph Fiennes Room was great and nearest to the car park entrance so easier to get to for thos...

Me and my partner stayed here over a weekend. The rooms were lovely and warm with a fantastic view of Bakewell, and the location provided easy access into the town centre. The walls were a bit thin so you could hear everything that was going on next door but it didn't bother me as the neighbours weren't that noisy. There was a fantastic shower and bathroom with adequate kitchenette and facilities. The bed was comfy and the sheets were nice and fresh. The TV had freeview and the signal would intermittently get choppy but that can't be helped. The staff left you alone and didn't bother you or fuss over you but were only a phone call away if you needed them and were always polite and helpful when I rang them. Would happily stay here again.

Stayed here for 3 nights during the feb cold spell. room was always toasty and warm when we returned. Exactly as seen on the website photos. Views in morning over bakewell were lovely. Town is a 5 minute walk downhill (steep). Would happily return a nice base for exploring the peak district.

This is part of what used to be a Youth Hostel, but banish any thoughts of spartan surroundings from your minds: it's had a boutique-hotel style makeover, and now offers tasteful, comfortable accommodation in well-appointed rooms - even down to the designer 'smellies' awaiting you in the bathroom. The'knock-your-socks-off' shower deserves a special mention! The Sleep Lodge is essentially an 'apart-hotel', with handy kitchenettes for breakfast/snacks/whatever, and no full-time reception: instead, you're met on arrival in the car park and shown to your room. Ironically, service was better here than most conventional hotels we've experienced - a quick phone call ensured that any query or minor problem was promptly (and charmingly!) dealt with. It's especially suitable if, like us, you're a group of friends, as several of the rooms can convert to twins, and are clustered in self-contained units. It's a quick (if steep!) walk into charming Bakewell itself, where you'll find a good range of really excellent restaurants & cafes, several of which offer discounts to Sleep Lodge/Bagshaw Hall guests. Over all, it's great value for money, and we'll definitely be back!

Room Tip: The staff are genuinely helpful - if you book direct, you can discuss with them what you're look...

Stayed here with 4 girlfriends in April for my birthday and it was just perfect. We had 3 rooms between 5 of us and drew straws for who would get the one with the King size bed! Facilities were excellent from the huge shower, the comfy beds and the mini kitchen facilities in each room. Rooms were so large that there was plenty of room to gather in one for a nightcap of the wine nicely chilled in the fridge! With plenty of choice in Bakewell for places to eat breakfast, there was no need for the traditional B&B. All in all a great weekend and we're already planning the next. And Elaine who dealt with our booking could not have been more helpful!

Room Tip: The rooms with baths are slightly larger than those with a shower.
