This is a strange place to stay, since it's more of a self-catering apartment than a hotel, but priced like a hotel so you can stay just the odd night. Our room was really well designed, with fully fitted kitchen ( cooker, full sized fridge freezer, microwave, dishwasher ), excellent bathroom with whirlpool bath, excellently furnished and very high quality. Which is a bit of a waste if you're only staying one night, so to get best advantage you'd need to stay a few nights and do your own cooking etc. The problem is I guess you could rent a small cottage in a lovely location for a week for much less than a week here.
Nonetheless, it is really lovely and we'd probably stay again!

This is the second time we have stayed at Bagshaw Hall. Last time we stayed in the Mirabeau Suite which was lovely. When i booking i mentioned we were returning guests in my email they kindly upgraded us to the Chatsworth Penthouse Suite for free.
On arrival we met the staff who showed us to our room which i must say was fabulous. The decor was beautiful and the apartment was spotless and very chic. The bed was enormous and so comfortable and the 2 person bath was perfect for lazing in with my girlfriend.
Its only a couple of minutes down the hill into Bakewell which itself is lovely and has some great eateries.
I cant recommend the place enough and we will be going back next year for a little get away.

Room looked like a DIY project. Black mould in shower area which would come off if cleaned as I removed a small area with my finger to test. Dirty walls, grounds littered with rubbish in certain areas. It's as if they expect tourists to book so dont need to bother making it special. The breakfast is a complete con. Delivered to your room foil wrapped but still only slightly warm. £8 for 2 thin sausages, 1 bacon, 1 egg, beans and 1 toast. Didn't even get the hash brown that our partners got the first morning! Nor did we get fresh tea/coffee - poor. My advice (if you still insist on booking) is to take a gentle stroll into Bakewell and have breakfast in a cafe at the bottom of the hill for £5.95 and it will be hot with fresh tea and coffee! They really are ripping people off!

Stayed here recently for a weekend break. We were in a room in the Sleep Lodge annexe which was large, comfortable and clean with a good view over Bakewell, however certain things were a bit worn, the headboard came off its mountings on one bed and the window latches were on their last legs. The parking is also a bit ltight as well. Staff were freindly and helpful but to be honest for 100 pounds a night with no breakfast it would not be hard to find better value for money in one of the many B&B's in the Peak District.

Room Tip: Stay in the main hall.

We had high hopes for Bagshaw Hall having looked at the website and what looked like beautifully decorated rooms. We stayed in the Garden Room and had to duck to get in the door (no mention of this on website). It was not as spacious as the photos made out and we felt like we were in a damp cave with marked walls and dirty skirting boards. The toilet smelt musty, there was mould in the shower and we were welcomed with part used toilet rolls! The bed was very comfortable which with the location was the only plus. On our last morning I had a shower and afterwards we noticed that the water was coming outside into the kitchen area and making the carpet wet. This must be a known issue as the carpet had already been lifted up and the underlay removed in that area and then a rug placed on top! The management did not seem concerned when we rang to report it. We do not recommend the breakfast (£8 each) as it was delivered to our room but by the time it arrived it was luke warm and the table in our room hosted the DVD player! Outside was just as disappointing with the gardens needing attention and the wooden table being half jet washed. It is such a shame as this Hall is in a perfect setting and with a lot of tlc and good management could be a great place to stay.
