We went for a friends 50th party on a Saturday night. Food was great staff polite we had an enjoyable evening. Wondering what the atmospheres like in the week when it's quiet though, it's a big place.

We went for a meal here after a friend recommended it and we certainly weren't disappointed. The entrance is rather dingey but don't be put off, the restaurant itself is beautiful done out. Our food arrived in good time, we weren't waiting too long. Food slightly overpriced but can't really complain. You get what you pay for and the food was amazing! So it was worth while. Will definitely visit again.

Other reviews have mentioned the parking and un-prepossessing entrance, so we'll take that as read...

We visited as a party of nine, organised by a couple who are regular diners here. Problem number one came when I and four others arrived after the other four who had arrived already and were seated in the waiting area. They had already been served drinks, so to expedite things one of us approached the bar to get drinks. They were quite brusquely rebuffed, and told to sit down and we would be served. Sadly we weren't, so half of the party had to sit without drinks while waiting for our table to be ready.

Once seated, there was still a long (unacceptable?) wait before a drinks order was taken. When it did arrive, the waitress had difficulty uncorking the wine bottles, and left them on the table still corked. Another waiter later came and finished off the job, but took a break halfway through to go and do something else. The waitress then brought the single drinks, and unfortunately somehow managed to throw one of them over one of our party, making the poor chap uncomfortably damp and somewhat odoriferous for the remainder of the (long!) evening.

Cutting an appropriately long story short, the rest of the evening was less eventful but most awfully slow. The table was booked for 8.30pm, by 10.15pm we had still not been served our main courses. The food varied from truly excellent to entirely unacceptable and rejected. What also didn't help is that warmed plates were issued over 30 minutes before the food, so were no longer warm, and that rice, side dishes etc were served ten minutes before the main dishes, so were also no longer warm.

The interminable delays had already rather compromised our plans for the rest of the evening, so we were not inclined to linger for desserts and so forth, although those that had ordered the set menu took tea. One of the group who had paid for tea failed to receive it, but by this point we really just needed to organise the bill and leave. When the bill arrived, we were told that some form of minor financial restitution had been made in recognition of the events - however, the bill took the form of a totalled amount allied to illegible waiter's notes, so there was no way for us to judge if the bill was even correct, let alone assess any items where the charge had been waived.

The couple who organised the evening were as disappointed as the rest, but felt that this was not indicative of the normal service, and they may well be correct - however, a quick scan of other reviews may perhaps suggest otherwise? That notwithstanding, my own personal feeling would be not to return - I have previously eaten at another Thai restaurant in Chesterfield and recall it as being a much less disappointing experience, and again reviews on here would seem to suggest that others have felt similarly.

Booked lunch with a group of 15 in early December. Food was tasty and service was good but overall I was a little disappointed. We all opted for the fixed menu (Price from £18-£24 pp) the mixed starters were really nice but the main course portions were a little on the small size, one portion of rice was served on each plate with more rice not arriving until near the end of the meal. Like another review we were disappointed that again the draught beer was not working, seems like a deliberate ploy to sell the more expensive bottles at £3.50 each.
