Spot on apart from room temperature was too hot and with no air con iy made our nights stay quite uncomfortable. When we did open the window it was incredibly noisy outside with heavy and fast traffic noise

We had a Saturday night here as part of a walking weekend in the Peak District. On arrival the staff, particular Rose, were very helpful in helping us check-in. The room was up to the normal premier inn standard, very comfortable, even if a bit warm (They had put a fan in the room to help and offered sheets instead of the normal duvet).
We ate in the evening in the Casa hotel across the main road (5-10 mins walk away), which was very nice, as we didn't really fancy the Brewers Fayre next door.
Overall a great place to stay as it's not too far from some great walks in the Peak District.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 62, on the second floor. Room was OK, but opposite the doors to the lift so was a...

Stayed at this premier as my partner and i were touring the peak district. I stay in prem inns once a week through work and found this one just as good as the others around the country. Room clean, friendly staff all the usual. But..had a room at the back of hotel and was woken twice in the night but youths shouting as theywent to the canal which runs alongside the hotel.then the fan unit in the room woke us up at 6am to tell us it was dying-so went to reception to swap it although they quickly got me another one there was no sympathy that id got up 3 hours earlier than my alarm. All in all a typical good premier inn but needs double glazing and perhaps proper air con fitting.

Stayed here last weekend with my other half and another couple in between locations Saturday and Sunday. Overall very impressed with the hotel, the one member of staff we saw (we arrived late on Saturday night) was extremely pleasant and gave us all the info we needed.

Room was usual good Premier Inn quality, can't complain.

My only down side to this hotel is the train line that runs directly alongside one side of it. It was a warm day and with the window open the trains on our side of the hotel were quite noisy. Luckily the temperature dropped in the evening and there was no need for the window to be open and therefore was no noise at all from the trains.

Also - the attached pub did a good meal at a reasonable price and served till 10pm which was great for us.

Would stay here again and would recommend

Room Tip: Avoid the side of the hotel where the train track runs. With the window open it might be quite loud

Me and my family previously stayed at the Premier Inn for 2 nights 3 years ago for a short break in the Peak District and we had a great time! We decided we would come again as we wanted a break in the Peak District and this premier inn is in a really good location, not far from the motorway and there's a big Tesco superstore nearby along with a Costa coffee and KFC also. The rooms in the premier inn are really nice we had a family room and there really spacious, ours even had a flat screen! The beds are really comfy this is one of the best things going for the premier inn, we all slept really well the two nights we stopped, even though it was hot at the time we were supplied with fans which really helped. Noise wasn't really an issue either, we were on the ground floor which meant the railway line was near us, however this wasn't really a problem for us they weren't very frequent anyway and the windows help to sound proof the rooms anyway. The breakfast was great as it was 3 years ago, we had the premier breakfast which meant we could have cooked and continental, i went for the continental there was plenty of choice from croissants, muffins, yogurts, fruit and cereals also, the restaurant was a Brewers Fayre the layout was good and i have reviewed this separately it's called the Lock Keeper. Overall we had a great stay nothing was too much trouble for the staff and we may be back in another 3 years!

Myself and my friend have stopped at this Premier Inn twice. Both times we found no faults. The staff in the Inn especially on the desk were exceptional. Helpful, friendly and even remembered us from our first stay. Nothing was too much for them. If there was any negatives it would be that there was not enough sockets in the room. If you have the fan or hairdryer on and the kettle and TV there are no spare sockets. And although you can get extra towels etc from reception it would be nice to have more than one each as we had a shower in the evening and wanted another in the morning. Also breakfast prices are too expensive. My friend and I don't eat a lot and found that although you could have all you wanted. For the amount we would eat it wasn't worth it and to have the cheaper one available it was too much money for what you got. But there is a KFC and 24 hour Tesco nearby (walking distance) All in all, if need to stay anywhere again would pick here definately. And the mention of the train track. We had a room opposite it and had the windows open all night and never heard a thing. Didn't disturb us at all.

Room Tip: We had 2 different ground floor rooms. Both near the railway track. Had windows open all night and n...

Although this was only an overnight stop we were impressed by this Premier Inn. All the staff were pleasant and helpful, the bed was the most comfortable we had slept in for a long time, and the room and bathroom were clean and well maintained, with plenty of pillows and towels. Most welcome was the fact that a fan was already working in the room, as we had arrived on one of the hottest days of the year, and we were even offered a second one had we needed it.
