Been here half a dozen times, and the 2 for £10 is great in value, portion size and taste.

Tried off the main menu, but one dish had to go back. Serving staff very apologetic, but at the till not even asked if meal was ok or offered an apology....

Agree with prev comments, ''some work to do'' but worth a visit to make your own minds up.lease

Being local to this pub...it did have a slightly ''not so good tag''...but with a recent refubishment
its made a ''vast improvement'' & is going in the right direction.. However if the food can match its decor it would definately get a 10 out 10... Ok its never going to be a Michelin star type of Pub restaraunt..So give it a try ...

Four of us dined on the 2 for £10 menu, and we had a starter and desert from the main menu.

All starters fine except for the mushroom soup, which was watery and tasteless, with a rim around the top of the bowl indicative of microwaving.

The main courses of chicken and gammon were fine, and the chips were nice. The burger seemed more like something from a fair ground in both appearances and taste, with a cheap bun and a processed cheese slice, it was substantial however. The accompanying salad looked tired. The veggie option of mushroom melt was bizzare in retrospect it should have been returned, just a small pot of mushrooms in liquid and two small slices of hard (microwaved?) garlic bread, served with chips, one assumes the mushrooms were to be emptied onto the bread. It was the strangest dish I have ever seen.

The deserts were ok.

You have to be cautious with overly criticising 2 for £10 dishes, but the burger and veggie option chosen did fall way short of competitors.

We visited the Plug & Feathers as its recently been made over, it was my birthday so I was looking forward to it. Not happy!!! We were greeted with a very young inexperienced miserable looking girl, it was very hot in there and a quiet atmosphere! Our starters came, my husband had nachos which were smashed to smitherines and hidden under a mountain of cheese! We had to use our
Fingertips to pick them up and there were no chance of dipping them in the salsa!!! The main meal came we had fish and chips to which I can only deacribe as batter with a small amount of fish! The pub looks beautiful but it's 'all fur coat and no knickers!' they need to pay more attention on their staff training and employ 'pleasant' staff, and get a decent chef in..........we won't be going back!!!

I have now visited a few times, Lovely decor, very pleasant to sit in with a glass of wine. The food in my opinion is average pub food,( I wouldnt class it as a restaurant), although I had a curry last time and it was Dire. I just want somebody to give the young waiting staff a bit of guidance! No idea how to pull a pint of real ale, The waiting time is unacceptable and they all seem a little bewildered. Could be a nice little spot for an average lunch, at reasonable food and drink prices if someone could get there act together!
