The Ibis chain have a reputation for basic hotels in locations that are often convenient for business travellers. Their rooms provide the bare necessities, and this spartan approach is reflected in a low price.
The Ibis in Chesterfield lives up to this formula and provides no-frills accommodation near to the centre of the old town. While that may sound convenient, the traffic noise is a problem and the busy roads might discourage some travellers from leaving the hotel.
The hotel's austere approach is reinforced by staff who seem to regard patrons as an inconvenience, and the 'restaurant' is akin to a truck stop cafe.
I would strongly recommend researching other accommodation options in Chesterfield before settling on the Ibis, and when I return on business I'll be staying in a different hotel or a B&B.
