I lived in Chesterfield for 16+ years and recently revisited for one night as part of a family holiday. We decided to stay centrally so booked the IBIS Chesterfield Central based on the fact we have used IBIS hotels previously in different locations.
We arrived 15 minutes before we were due to check-in but had to wait 30 minutes until the two rooms we had booked became available.
The staff were friendly without being particularly welcoming.
When we finally did get access to our rooms they were as expected, clean but basic. However; there was an overriding smell of hospital ward throughout both the corridor and in the rooms themselves which was quite unpleasant.More
