Description: Koo Coffee opened it's door in September 2006, inspired by our dream of creating a unique but affordable coffee and dinning experience that people would remember. After many months of searching, a local building that was once a fondly remembered delicatessen since 1928 became available and after 3 months of hands on labouring we finally opened our doors to a expectant neighbourhood. After spending months searching and tasting, for the best coffee, we are proud to be associated with Puro coffee, a unique and fabulous tasting fair trade bean of which we have exclusivity to in the area. As well as great coffee, which is "good all day!" Koo prides itself on offering a simple yet sophisticated menu, full of great fresh continental produce sourced internationally as well as locally. Not only does Koo offer great coffee and food but we go one step further and we offer great wines which you can sample in one of our increasingly popular wine tasting events.

The food was divine, however the service was ok , especially if you order chips.. You can sit inside or outside. But overall I loved it!

Pleased to hear you enjoyed your visit to Koo, however we do prepare each meal to order making everything as fresh as possible and so this can provide a short delay at busy times and so I hope this does not put too many off as so many places offer food that we all know is not freshly prepared!!!!
Hope to see you again soon at Koo x

“Nice atmosphere, lovely decor but v.slow service”
Reviewed November 16, 2012

We had high hopes when we initially came in - received a warm welcome and were very quickly seated. Ordered and drinks arrived quickly, but food took a......very.......long........time to arrive. We'd both finished our drinks quite some time ago (including a whole pot of tea) by the time it eventually came. This wouldn't have been so bad, as admitedly they were busy, but at least 2 other tables who'd arrived after us received their food before we did. Its a nice place, and the food was good but the frustrating wait spoilt it somewhat. Disappointing experience!

I am pleased to see that you visited Koo over the weekend, | am disappointed that you had some slow services, we do always try our best to accomodate everyone all the time. We have been very busy over the past weekends and we do struggle to seat everyone at certain times of the day, but hopfully our friendly atmosphere makes up for any delay. We currently have a new trainee chef which unfortuntley can slow service down at times, but hey we all have to learn. please make yourself known to me the next time you visit and I will be happy to ensure your visit is enjoyable.

“Very good”

Very good for a local cafe - and they do gluten free bread and pasta - really nice chips - better than chain coffee shops/cafes

“Enjoyed my birthday lunch”
Reviewed October 18, 2012

This lunchtime my friend and myself dined here with our youngest children.
Koo was half full on our arrival but during our time only 2 tables were free. So at busy times i would book.
On arrival a friendly waitress who predominatly served everyone took our order of drinks and then 5 mins or so later came back to take our food order.
There is no mention of childrens options on the menu, I am not sure if this is so they dont openly advertised accepting children in fear of putting other customers off but once we asked what they could do for the children she was very helpful.
Myself and my friend had the quiche of the day which came with chips salad and onion marmalade. The quiche was fine tasty but the pastry seemed a little soggy instead of crisp. That was the only negative the chips were crispy and soft the marmalade was very tasty and with a little 'kick' I thought?
My daughter had a sandwich which came with crisps and fruit and was pefectly acceptable for a 3 year old to eat.
The coffee shop is decorated lovely and the toliets are very clean.
We woud return to Koo but next time without the children as although the children behaved fine we felt we couldnt 100% relax. Maybe due to the surroundings or the way the tables are closely put together the customers who came in after us clearly didnt want to sit near us.
Of course this is not Koo's fault just the type of clientele they attract? But I do think this is suited better to older children/adults.
