“Magnificent”

This a great NT place to visit. The house and gardens are quite splendid and well worth the time. The history of our country inside passes as you stroll around.

“good for half a day”
Reviewed June 6, 2014

Plenty of parking for which there is a separate charge. Informative talk held outside hall is recommended before making your own way around the hall itself. Nice building but perhaps not shown to its best advantage as the curtains are kept drawn in a number of rooms. Presumably this is done to protect the paintings in there but in one of the rooms in particular where people would promenade it would have been nice to have the authenic paintings displayed in a different room and modern copies on display with the curtains open to show the wonderful views Bess would have enjoyed as she entertined her guests.
Gardens are small but worth a look. Facilities on site are excellent with a well priced cafe serving good food with plenty of internal and external seating. Never mentioned this specifically in a review before but the main toilet facilities here are the best i've ever experienced at a tourist attraction

“Enjoyable day out”
Reviewed June 2, 2014

Lovely walk around, well kept grounds as well. Wasn't very well advertised that you don't have to pay to walk around on the other walks if you dont want to go into the hall or gardens. However, the lovely women behind the desk are a great help. Facilities inside are very good with some nice food stalls. A lovely day out walking with some great views. Photographers dream.
