“A special place to stay in Chesterfield”
Reviewed November 7, 2011

Many comments have been made about the asymmetrical design of this hotel - some negative, but some friends and I visited for lunch and were bowled over by the tasteful interior design of this new hotel. The staff were so welcoming, and the ambiance was great.
The lunch menu offered good choice at very reasonable prices and the service was excellent. We shall definitely be visiting this local hotel in the near future .
It is situated adjacent to the new B2 net stadium, the home of Chesterfield FC and due to its more than ample parking places, offers football fans a good deal if they wish to park in the hotel.

Room Tip: Despite being near to a busy road there was no noise. The whole place had a feeling of calm.

Dear Josie F,
Thank you for your review of the hotel. I am delighted that you enjoyed lunch with us. Like you say, it is a perfect place for football fans. We offer £5 parking, which is redeemable against food in Barca bar and we also offer a fantastic pre-match hospitality lunch option.
I hope we will see you again soon.
Kind regards,
Victoria

The hotel is very new and beautiful inside. The rooms are very well set up and very quiet.
The hotel decoration is very Spanish and all done in the best possible taste.
The staff were very friendly and the service was excellent.
The best thing was the full english breakfast which was included in the price. it was one of the best I have ever had.
i cannot wait to go back to this hotel.
The restaurant is a little expensive and small portions but the overall experience was fantastic. it was a surprise to see such a wonderful hotel in Chesterfield.

Room Tip: Rooms was very quiet even though ti overlooked the road.

Dear Englishdeb
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for Casa. When the hotel was built, the acoustics was a very high priority. I am delighted that you would it so quite, as the purpose of the acoustic planning was to ensure you get the best night’s sleep possible.
I am glad to hear that you think our breakfast is the best you have ever had. We make all our own sausages and bacon, and the produce and eggs come from the owner’s farm, Walton Lodge. The animals are free range and organically reared to ensure the best quality.
I hope that we can welcome you back to Casa and Cocina soon.
Kind regards,
Victoria

We stayed at the Casa Hotel for 4 nights mid October. We had booked on the strength of the excellent reviews the Hotel had on the Trip Advisor Website. We were not disappointed! We splashed out and booked a Suite with a Balcony and Jacuzzi. It was sheer luxury! We were able to totally relax which was just what we needed after a very stressful time! The room was absolutely spotless, the bed was just heaven and the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in, in our lives! We have stayed in 5* Hotel's the world over, and in particular in the Indian Ocean where standards are very high and this compares very well with these Hotels. We have also stayed in many so called 4* Hotels the world over which are in fact 2 or 3*! It was nice to have fresh milk in the fridge for making drinks, although we did not get our supply of Hot Chocolate replaced for the duration of our stay. The food in the restaurant was excellent. Breakfast was of a high quality with plenty of choice. We had dinner in the restaurant on our last night and the food was once again excellent and served nicely with just the right amount of time between each course. Our only disappointment was that the TV in the bathroom did not work! It is a luxury we had been looking forward to using. We did mention it to reception on our second morning and were told that someone would attend to it. However on returning to our room that evening it was still not working and we received no feedback from the Hotel as to what was happening. We mentioned it again to reception and discussed moving to one of the other suites, but it seemed that there was a problem with the TV's in the other Suite's as well! We were brought a glass of house wine each to the room! We did feel that the problem was known about, and felt that we should have been told and certainly kept informed of what was happening. However, when we checked out we were only charged the rate for a normal Suite to make up for the fact that the TV was not working. This was much appreciated. It is worth buying your tickets for 'The Heights Of Abraham' from the Hotel as we saved £2.50 on each ticket. However, do ensure that the Hotel stamps and dates the tickets for you. This did not happen to ours and when we got to the Attraction, the man in the Admissions Office could'nt decide whether or not he was going to accept the tickets or not! In the end thankfully, he did! We would certainly stay at the Casa again, but if you particularly want to use the TV in the bathroom, it may be worth just checking with reception that it is working! We decided it was worth paying the extra for a Suite, especially if your stay is for more than one night.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for a Suite and check that things work soon after checking in.

Dear XenaDog
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for Casa, I am pleased that you enjoyed your stay in one of our Jacuzzi suites. These suites have emperor sized beds and like all the rooms in the hotel, have the award winning Hypnos bed.
All our bedrooms are stocked with fresh milk, water and homemade biscuits, to make your stay that little bit more comfortable.
We make all our own sausages and bacon, and the produce and eggs come from the owner’s farm, Walton Lodge. The animals are free range and organically reared to ensure the best quality.
We did attend to the problem of the bathroom TV several times during your stay and I understand that you were advised that we would be unable to resolve the matter in the short term, as it required a visit from the installer. We are pleased to advise that all the TVs have since been fully restored.
The team have been briefed regarding the issue you had with The Heights of Abraham, thank you for highlighting this to us.
I hope that we can welcome you back to Casa in the future.

Kind regards,
Victoria

The staff were superb, 5 star quality at a 4 star price tag. The service and politeness and friendliness of all staff was relaxed and outstanding. The waitresses in particular Charlotte in the restaurant were very informal yet professional so we very comfortable. The food quality was exquisite, we could not fault it.

We stayed in the London Park Lane Hilton and found the room to be very similar, and the quality of the Hilton was a little more formal. The major difference was that the Hilton cost over £400 for one night and didn't include breakfast.

A very comfortable relaxing stay.

Room Tip: Any room would be good we think

Thank you for taking the time to leave such a great review of Casa. We are really pleased that your enjoyed your stay with us. We try to use locally sourced produce and the majority of the meat comes from the owner’s farm, which is just four miles away. This way we can make sure the produce is the best quality possible.
I will pass on your kind feedback to Charlotte and I hope that we will see you at Casa and Cocina again soon.

I stayed at Casa Hotel mid October 2011 for one night as my friends were getting married here. What a treat. Aside from the wedding, which was beautifully arranged and organised, the hotel itself is a real treat. The staff are professional and friendly, helpful in every way. The whole building is clean, modern, luxurious. The rooms are fantastic and I have no bad points or negatives at all. I defy anyone not to find the beds here the most comfortable EVER. It says in the literature that they have won awards for them, and you'll know why, it's like a sleeping in hug! Enjoy :)

What a pity we only stayed 1 night. From booking in to leaving nothing was too much trouble - the staff were excellent. The room was perfect and breakfast was also first class. A great pity more hotels don't deliver such service. Looking forward for an excuse to stay again. Well done - the owner should be proud of his establishment.

Booked one of the Hot tub suites to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday. Fantastic room with a huge bed and an outdoor terrace you could have a party on! Not the greatest of views but when your in a hot tub with water at 40 degrees, drinking wine/bubbly who cares? The bed was the most comfortable I've ever slept in. The facilities were great, although the TV in the bathroom refused to work (not that we were bothered). We couldn't fault the food and we even had late checkout at 1pm with Brunch (steak, 2 eggs and potato rosti) instead of breakfast, which meant we could make the most of the room/hot tub.
