Used this pub for quite a few years and seen good and not so good landlords/ladies come and go. It had great food and atmosphere when it was run by Les recently but she left earlier this year. Decided to give it a go again as it always was and could be a great pub again. I wish I hadn't bothered. No welcome (bar staff found it hard to even speak!!) No atmosphere and beer tasted stale. How anyone can be allowed to ruin a pub like this is scandalous. There aren't many great, cosy old fashioned pubs with great food and service left - no there is one fewer. I only left one star as I couldn't leave zero! If this pub is to survive it needs to make some serious changes now!! (People and attitude!) Until then avoid - we will be!!

thought this pub would have pulled its self together by now, but it hasn't, very sad. the meals and service were superb here a while ago and you felt as though you were in a very special little pub, serving good beer and a genuine warm welcome, it now looks very drab, and the whole feel has gone to the dogs! .

Dropped in at this pub after reading reviews, I think the people who rated it well need to get out more. The pub needs a facelift I have been in better transport cafes. The landlord seemed friendly enough but the standard leaves a lot o be desired. There are plenty of other pubs with restaurants to chose from locally, do yourself a favour and drive past to them.

Visited this pub on recommendation of Tripadvisor reviews, not at all what we were expecting, couldn't bring ourselves to order food or stay. Landlord did his very best to be accommodating but to no avail. Each to their own, but if you're looking for a pleasant atmosphere and are used to a certain standard of dining out - carry on down the road to The Biddestone Arms.
