“Just Wonderful”
Reviewed April 30, 2013

Just returned from a most enjoyable 2 day break. These people know what service is, friendly but very efficient. The house and grounds are a real pleasure, immaculately kept. If you enjoy really well cooked and presented food then Guyers will not disappoint you, a true Master Chef. Location is so peaceful yet convenient to visit many attractions. Our thanks to the management and friendly staff who did everything to make our visit so enjoyable, even the sun shone for us. As mentioned in a previous review the Sat Nav is not to be relied on, forget the post code and use Guyers lane as the destination.

We stayed at Guyers House Hotel last week for a couple of nights and had a really lovely stay. The hotel is gorgeous and is in a lovely setting with beautiful gardens, All of the staff were really helpful and friendly. Breakfast was great, good selection. Room was comfortable and quiet. It is only 8 miles to bath. Would definately go back!

Lovely hotel. Very homely.
Food excellent. We had breakfast and evening meal.
Service with a smile.
We stayed in the main hous, the bedroom was small and the bathroom was in urgent need of attention. The taps needed de-scaling and the shower screen leaked like a drain.
The grounds were beautiful.

Room Tip: don't stay in Room 9 of main house.

Visiting hotels on special offers always fills me with apprehension on what i shall find:will we be allocated the 'attic room' or the substandard 'broom cupboard'????.Will we be treated as 'second class lodgers ?.
Our fears were all allayed on arriving;well appointed warm coach room-albeit small-with a lovely ensuite bathroom containing quality toiletries. Efficient and friendly reception and lovely gardens-though the weather curtailed our viewing.
Very good quality food as befitting an award rosette restaurant. We didn't mind (ALMOST) paying an exorbitantly priced wine at 19.50 pounds-cheapest on the wine list!!!! due to the bargain of our special offer.
I know the hotels must make some money back but overpricing is counterproductive. We bought only one bottle instead of our usual two over our stay and missed out the bar completely the second night.
Lovely breakfast as a whole -nice ambience and staff although the the bacon overcooked on both mornings.
Possibly to aid us older guests, a grab handle could be incorporated in the shower
All in all a very pleasant short break at very favourable terms--one we would like to repeat if the offer is repeated ; we might even take out a loan for that second bottle of wine!!!

Room Tip: Take your umbrella on wet weather ; coach rooms quite a walk outside to hotel.

Me and my partner are in our mid twenties and we recently had a two night stay through Living Social. The hotel and grounds are amazing, with very welcoming and attentive staff. The food is out of this world. We would definitely go back. Thank you so much; would recommend to anyone! It's the perfect place to completely relax, with lots to do and see so near by...............

Room Tip: Garden Rooms are lush and peaceful.

This is the one of the best hotel we've stayed in. It's just more like a home to us, we feel really comfortable. It's clean, quiet, relaxing. It's a lot bigger inside than it looks. The staff are also really friendly.

We stayed for 2 night with the use of our Wowcher deal, and it was a bargain especially including a two-course dinner for two on the first night of our stay and breakfast on both mornings. The food was really delicious and well presented.

The hotel was only 7 miles away from Bath (Roman Bath). So a day trip to the historic town is a must. The only down point is the double bed is rather small and there's no play areas or facilities for children. However, there's a huge maze garden and front garden with a pond. It's the perfect wedding venue one will have.

All in all we're really happy!

Got a great deal on a 3 night stay at this hotel. The offer included evening meals which were excellent quality, as was the breakfast, also a very nice afternoon tea on arrival. Excellent staff , all were very friendly & helpful. Very nice grounds & very comfortable bar area, dining rooms & lounge area. The bed was very comfortable. Minor quibbles were that we had an attic room, which was very nice but the pipes were a bit creaky which was a bit irritating in the middle of the night & the parking spaces not clearly marked but this would not put me off recommending it to others or coming back myself in future.
The hotel is ideally located for visits to Bath and the some very nice villages in North Wiltshire including Laycock, Castle Combe & Avebury. Its near the village of Corsham which is also very nice and has some very friendly pubs. There are also a couple of pubs just a short walk from the Hotel.
