Our experience with The Castle Inn was A*****. All the Staff were particularly helpful, friendly and very accommodating as we had to change our stay date at least twice !.
The Inn was easy to find, warm and snug and very welcoming. Our room was beautiful, lovely soft furnishings and a comfy bed. The bathroom was amazing, huge, a walk in double shower and a HUGE bath with amazing views.
We dined in the Restaurant on Sunday evening and enjoyed the menu choices as they were different. The Inn itself was quiet which was perfect. We found a nice cosy candlelit table around the corner and our waitress was very attentive. The food was all wonderful, especially the enormous chocolate brownie ! The hearty breakfast, latte and freshly squeezed orange juice were a big treat the next morning :).
A PERFECT nights stay after a lovely shopping trip around Bath with my Husband, and a visit to the Thermae Bath Spa. Would highly recommend ++++++

We stayed in Room 4 for 2 nights and had a lovely time. The staff were really friendly and room nice and clean (we also got a special mid week offer). Room 4 is great (i think it is the only one with a bath, the others have showers and it is well worth paying the extra i reckon), the bathroom is huge, with a bath and seperate shower and two basins and armchair, and best of all beautiful views across the town to the countryside and the white horse. The bed was nice and comfy. There were nice touches such as a cafetiere in your room. The breakfast had a great choice and was tasty. We ate both nights in the pub and had a lovely meal both nights.

I would highly recommend it if you want a relaxing break in a friendly place.

Room Tip: Room 4 is fab

Spent one night in The Castle on a trip to Bath. We booked a family room to avoid needing a second room for our 17 year old son - that made it very good value. The huge room was unusually decorated, like a sitting room in a house - nicely done except could do with a bit brighter lighting Great well equipped bathroom. Very welcoming staff. We ate in the pub - excellent food at reasonable price - it was packed, despite the fact it was Wednesday evening - obviously popular with locals. Good breakfast in the bar.
Only fault we could find is a shortage of parking. However, one of the staff kindly moved their car so we could park.

From the road, the Castle Inn doesn't look much, but as soon as you walk through the gate into the walled garden, you start to get a sense of the place. Beautiful views over Bradford-on-Avon, with the white horse in the distance and plenty of space outside. Must be great for an evening pint in the summer.
Inside, the bar and restaurant are warm and cosy, with a few quiet corners to while away the evening. The extensive range of ales was well kept - the house brew of Flatcappers Ale being my favourite - and the wine and spirit selections were good too. The food was generous and very high quality; couldn't fault it. Breakfast was delicious; a generous full English with freshly squeezed orange juice and all the morning papers.
There are only 4 bedrooms at the Castle Inn. My party had rooms 2 & 3, which were both large, airy and very well appointed with big comfy beds. The provision of proper coffee and leaf tea was a lovely touch. Despite being above the pub, the rooms were not noisy at all and we had a good night's sleep (though admittedly, the extensive range of ales may have been a factor here!).
All the staff I met were superb and very friendly; attentive without being intrusive and eager to provide anything you asked for.
All in all, this is one of the best places I've had the pleasure to stay and I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone visiting the area. I hope to be back soon...

Room Tip: Room 3 has great views and is away from the road side, so a bit quieter.

My parner and I stayed here a couple of weeks ago. We were greeted with a very warm welcome with staff who were very helpful. Our room was beautiful and very clean with an amazing view of the white horse in the distance (Room 3). The breakfast was gorgeous and the service was fantastic. A beautiful place to stay and we would definitely go back again. Highly recommend this as either a place to stay or somewhere to eat out. 5 stars from me!

Room Tip: Stayed in room 3 - King size bed, beautiful view of the white horse, amazing bathroom.

This was our second visit to the Castle inn, our first visit was in 2009. From the moment you arrive you will sense the warmth and friendliness of the place. A foody pub, with a wonderful atmosphere and just 4 rooms upstairs. The food is excellent, and the full English breakfast is to die for! On both our visits we have stayed in the beautifully decorated room 4, which has a bathroom as big as the main bedroom!! The decor is classic with a modern twist.

For a couples getaway that wont break the bank, I cannot recommend the Castle enough!

We are really looking forward to returning! Everything was great!! The service, parking, food, atmosphere, selection of beers and the view was fantastic. A must visit, if you are in the area. We went as a group of six and the table was all ready for our reservation. We liked he efficient way they took our Order.
