Since my last visit there have been some changes following TV advice, Cloth tablecloths replacing the paper ones certainly an improvement and sandwiches looked daintier. We had cooked breakfast which was divine but were disappointed that jacket potatoes were no longer on the menu as they really were way above average. Concentration on change may have been at the expense of deep cleaning (only momentarily I hope) as the mirror in the ladies loo was thick with dust and there were dusty cobwebs in the alcove by the fireplace downstairs. The service from the young girls was excellent as usual - despite having to deal with a flood in the downstairs kitchen - nothing was too much trouble and service was always accompanied by a smile. Will certainly be returning on our regular visits in the hope the lack of cleanliness was a blip. Don't let that put you off - well worth a visit. At peak times it can get very busy so do book a table if you are planning ahead.

I think the owners have at long last taken some professional advice and have now made their tea rooms much 'classier'. Sandwiches now dainty - not the 'door steps' once served and the tableware is much nicer. Lunch menu much diminished - no jacket potatoes for example, which is a shame as one does not always want cream teas early in the day. I quite often popped in for lunch which I don't find so good anymore. I am at a loss to know why the door to the toilets does not have a self shutting device fitted as I have on numerous occasions been confronted by the doors being wide open and full view of the toilets being ignored by the staff - very unpleasant when sitting eating.

Great team room located near the main bridge over the River Avon. The food and service was excellent and highly recommended. The onion tart with salad and the turkey sandwich with cranberry sauce were excellent with free coffee refills. The staff were friendly and attentive, with the waitress dressed in an Edwardian maids costume added to the experience. There was an excellent selection of teas and cakes. Looking forward to a return trip in the near future!

My partner and I stopped in for a cup of tea, while we was looking at the menu we decided to have afternoon tea, there was a nice selection of teas, our afternoon tea came out on a 3 tier cake stand, it didn't look much but by the time you finished it we were both full, it was very yummy,

The atmosphere inside mirrors so well the appearance of the building, down to waitresses dressed in 'Victorian ' maids' uniforms. So many tea and coffee choices are offered it's hard to decide. If you select a cake - beware - the portions are large enough for two and wickedly yummy.
