“very inviting,charming and very well-equipped hideaway in a peaceful,car-free and historic,pretty location.t”

We loved this cottage. While on the small side for 4 people, it was attractively presented and devoid of clutter so it felt fairly spacious. It was spotlessly clean and so, so quiet. The views were wonderful and the front garden was ideal for sitting in.

“Clean and comfortable - perfect place to stay”
Reviewed April 9, 2017 for a stay in April 2017

We came from America and stayed here for seven nights. Bradford-on-Avon is a quaint town with everything you want in an English village: old churches, great pubs, charming tea shops, and footpath bridges over a small river. It's also close to several of the larger tourist attractions, including Bath, Stonehenge, and Salisbury Cathedral.
The house itself is clean and comfortable. We felt at home very quickly. It's been stylishly decorated but still easy to relax in. The kitchen has every accessory you could possibly need, and the co-op is close for any food shopping needed. The views are amazing and we loved waking up to the fog in the valley and the birds singing.
My only caution is the steep walk up from town. After a long day out, it could be a little daunting.

“Lovely cosy cottage in a beautiful location”

We had a great few days in this lovely cottage on the hill above Bradford on Avon. We were greeted in the (free) car park by Maggie who helped with our bags and took us to the cottage. The cottage is very clean and bright with incredible views over the town and beyond. The décor is very appealing and the cottage is warm. The kitchen facilities are excellent and the furniture is comfortable. It is a very short walk into town and on to the railway station for direct links to Bath and Bristol. Bradford is a very picturesque town with some interesting historical features and nice shops and restaurants. Communication with Maggie was excellent from the first enquiry. Would highly recommend this rental as long as you are up for the hills!

“Special place to stay with lovely views”
Reviewed October 16, 2016 for a stay in September 2016

The cottage is in a very special location on the hillside overlooking Bradford on Avon. We could leave our car behind and explore the many footpaths around Tory and down to the excellent pubs and restaurants in the centre of town. The cottage has been really tastefully fitted out; it felt like a mini art gallery. We hope to be able to return again.

“Lovely characterful cottage with beautiful views”
Reviewed September 12, 2016 for a stay in September 2016

This is a beautiful cottage in a beautiful area with beautiful views. You have to accept that it's on a steep hill and it's hard work up from the town or up to the car park, but it's well worth the effort, and you get used to it. Bradford is a beautiful and interesting town and an excellent centre for exploring.

“A delightful non tourist alternative to staying in nearby Bath.”

We enjoyed our stay at 12 Tory. Maggie met us on arrival and took us in to the cottage, explained how everything worked. The apartment is warm and south facing with stunning views across the town and countryside - even a white horse is usally visible.
You do need to be fit though as it is a walk and often a climb up paths or steps in Bradford on Avon. We walked along the canal, around the town and when we did visit Bath, we took the train.
As each cottage on each level is on a common path, its great to walk along and chat to local people living there, admire their gardens and pat their cats and dogs.

Liked best: We liked the location, the views, the amenities and being in a community rather than a hotel. Shopping was close as we were mostly doing self-catering.
Liked least: After some initial problems with the wifi and help from Maggie it settled and was very good. As self caterers we did find the mismatch of saucepans and lids difficult as was the lack of covered dishes for using in the microwave.

We were met by the owner who helped us with our luggage as the car park is a short distance from the property reached by a flight of steps or a winding path which was good for wheeled cases. Because the property was so high up we enjoyed splendid views right across to the Westbury White Horse. The cottage was very tastefully decorated and very comfortable with an extremely well equipped kitchen. A short walk down into the town gave access to the railway station and buses to Salisbury while the buses for Bath were very close to the car park. We enjoyed lovely walks along the river and the canal as well as a boat trip. this would make an excellent property for anyone who could manage the steps.
