“Amazing value for money, to quality”
Reviewed March 3, 2013

if you want a gastronomic restaurant with a cosy atomosphere with great food, amazing presentation and unforgettable flavors, this is THE restaurant you have to pop down.

The nice surprice is a bill easily under £100 for a 3 courses meal with prosceco, wine, coffee.

Nice and cosy waiting room where you discover the menu, place your order when drinking a first drink next to a fireplace;

highly recommended. They deserved being known.

“Immaculate but lacking flavour.”
Reviewed March 1, 2013

The three gables present some of the prettiest plates of food I've seen in a long time but are let down by a lack of flavour. My venison with beetroot was beautiful to look at but really just was a little boring. The same can be said for my main of perfectly cooked pork loin with rhubarb and parsnip. These flavours should be alive and singing in my mouth but the individual elements were just not packing a punch.
Great service, good ambiance but pricey.

“Just the place for a romantic evening”
Reviewed February 23, 2013

We went on Valentine's night for Vito's special Valentine meal - and special it was. The venue is pretty special too; a lovely old building, restored and updated to a very high standard. Service was impeccable and the advice offered on the extensive wine list was spot on. The food on offer for £35 per head was selected from the normal menu and represented good value for money. And chef Marc, who learned his trade in some of Bath's very best restaurants did us proud - all of us, it seenmed to me.

“Great meal”
Reviewed February 12, 2013

Four of us ate there on a Saturday night. The restaurant, which is in a very old building, is spread over several floors and was quite busy. We all opted for main course plus dessert and everyone really enjoyed their meals. My Morrocan lamb with couscous was really good except for the few pieces of popcorn(!) on top of the lamb which were a bit strange and moved to the side of the plate. The white chocolate and rhubarb cheesecake was excellent but, as it was deconstructed, might have been a surprise to some diners.

“We want to go again!”
Reviewed January 30, 2013 via mobile

Just had lunch here. It's a lovely old building and remarkably light inside which is not the impression you get when looking at it from the street. The furnishings are very comfortable and crockery, cutlery and glassware of a high class as is the table linen.

Food is very tasty and beautifully served and the service was attentive without being over powering. This is our first visit and we will be back to try the Gables for dinner.
