“Another lovely evening with Dick & Jane!”
Reviewed February 23, 2013

Visit this restaurant about every 2 months or so with a great but small group of friends. Why do we keep going back - well, because the ambience is welcoming, the staff are friendly, the food is what is says on the tin and the place is joyful and fun. Shared a platter to start and it was hot, fresh and tasty, quickly followed by fish & chips, steak & chips, scampi & chips and ham, egg & chips! Not all for me, of course! We washed the lot down with wine & beer and for a reasonable amount of slightly less than £22 each we were satisfied!! We'll be back again shortly!

“Really cosy and very resonably priced”

A very cute and quirky venue. Service was very efficient and the food was really tasty, good sized portions and not overly priced. Would definitely recommend

“A Hidden Gem”
Reviewed February 15, 2013

My friend and I were recommended to go to the Lock inn in Bradford on Avon.
The downside to the place, there is no car parking. Its side of the road job, or where ever you can find somwhere to leave your car. If you're on foot or on a bike, then you'll be fine.
Loads of seating, inside and out. We chose to sit in, it was too cold to sit outside, a roaring real open fire was burning away, and first impressions? Well its very quirky and cosy inside and romantic outside.
Food wise, we didnt have long to wait, and this massive plate of food arrived for both of us. All freshly cooked, beautiful and hot, absolutely delicious and full of meat! I had a Chicken and bacon Tagliatelle with salad garnish, it cost £7.85 I expected to see a tiny portion of Tagliatelle with an equally small portion of meat, oh no - THAT was not the case!
Well, neither of us had room for a pudding, I rolled out of that place. Very nice, very friendly, Great service, I loved the little basket of condiments and goodies sat on the tables. It had everything in them, a really nice touch.
My partner and I will have to visit one day again, but maybe for him we may have to sit in the sun houses, because the restaurant has alot of artefacts hanging off the ceiling and he's 6ft 5". He's going to struggle avoiding the objects dangling down.
The place comes recommended, for a special meal out or just for somthing to grab while you're on the waterways. Its at the start of the tow path on the Frome side of the Town and its really quaint.

“good honest grub at good honest prices!!”
Reviewed February 6, 2013

visited here on a cold Wednesday afternoon, but with a lovely real fire burning away nicely the place itself was comfortably warm. We ate in the cafe, too cold to eat outside in the summerhouses!! The food was excellent, large quantities, freshly cooked and reasonably priced and with an extensive choice of dishes there will be something to suit all tastes and there are also smaller plates for those with smaller appetites.
Never used the toilets, so can't confirm whether they are as disgusting as mentioned in a previous review, however the cafe itself was clean enough. A quirky little place will definitely visit again.
