“A wonderful stay, very relaxing and stress free”
Reviewed November 15, 2009

The hotel service was great. The staff could not be faulted in any way.

We stayed in a suite, which had a double room and small twin room for the children. The rooms were very comfortable but our children did have a moan that the twin beds were a little on the small side!

We made good use of the swimming pool and gym, which we all enjoyed as a family after a hard day's sight-seeing and shopping in Bath!

The hotel restaurant is a must and provides the highest quality food with an exceptional service.

We really enjoyed relaxing in one of the TV lounges and being looked after by the hotel staff.

Widbrook Grange is ideally located and is within close proximity to local areas of interest.

The staff were very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Our boys loved the very clean swimming pool(towels provided). Our room ,although set outside of the main hotel ,was very clean and homely with character and also had tea\coffee making facilities and a television. The food was of an extremely high standard with a fantastic menu.(would love to live nearer to try their themed evenings!)
Used the local bus to get into Bath and the train home in the evening plus taxi, very easy. Visited Longleat close by on the next day.

We only booked the hotel at the last minute, but they couldn't be more helpful. We were travelling with our 1 year old and the hotel offered to provide a cot at no extra charge, and already had a high chair at our table ready for when we ate. They also have a baby listening service, although we didn't use this.

The food was gorgeous. Very fresh, and very well prepared and cooked, but not overly expensive. The service was very friendly and helpful.

The indoor pool was beautifully presented and very clean. It was warm but not too hot, and was a joy to swim in. Overall, a very relaxing time.

We stayed 4 nights at the hotel and had a very happy time there. From when we arrived to leaving we were made to feel very welcome and as though nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant service was good and the food was excellent.
We stayed in the Shakespeare suite which would be difficult to find fault with, it even had lovely views. The room was kept very clean during our stay.
The location was good for visiting tourist attractions, we visited Bath by train from Bradford-on-Avon. There is an award winning teashop in Bradford -on-Avon that is worth a visit. Many thanks to Peter, Jane and their staff for making our visit an enjoyable one.

A nice blend of informality combined with deference for the values of a well run hotel.
Our room was tastefully furnished, bright and immaculately presented.

Spacious grounds to explore and walks straight from the hotel, the pool and gym are a bonus too and right on you doorstep!
.
Sitting in the old part of the house with an aperitif before ordering dinner was a pleasure in itself, as we looked forward to excellent fayre and service in the restaurant.

We look forward to our 3rd visit soon!

We were taking a short break for our wedding anniversary and had wanted to visit Bath for some time. Packages in Bath were a bit more than we wanted to pay so we looked around the surrounding area and were fortunate to come across Widbrook Grange on the web. A quick call to confim availability was so well received and dealt with that it resulted in an immediate booking which is not something I usually do. The package included a bottle of bubbly and flowers in the room, three nights DBB and a bottle of wine on our last night which was just what we needed. The room was delightful and overlooked the gardens at the front of the Grange. Spacious and airy with a comfy bed and en-suite facilities, the room was serviced every day and everything that we asked for from an ironing board to a jug of water was provided within a few minutes. The restaurant was not crowded and the food and selection of wines was excellent using what was clearly a lot of local produce. Full English breakfast meant just that with a choice of eggs and plenty of toast. This set us up for a full day of sightseeing and we ate very little before coming back for dinner. The owners and staff were very friendly and offered good advice when we were not sure about travel arrangements. We are of an age where it is nice to relax after a busy day and the gardens are just right for that; deckchair, pint of beer and the Telegraph crossword - what more could you ask for? A swimming pool? Well, that was there as well and my wife enjoyed using it before breakfast but I was lazier and didn't even use the accompanying fitness room. We will certainly recommend Widbrook Grange to our family and friends and look forward to returning there when we are next in the Wiltshire/Avon area. P.S. The flowers are still with us over a week later - sadly the bubbly isn't!
