Stayed here recently whilst working nights locally.

On arriving we had a mishap with the rooms but the staff were patient and pleasant in freaking with us.

The cooked breakfast was amazing (especially the sausages) . A bit on the small size but that's my personal preference as I like "unhealthy portions) :-)

Rooms could do with an update but I think it just adds character to the hotel on the whole.

A must stay if you want to get away

We probably saw this hotel at it's best in terms of he weather and good in virtually every respect. Food (especially breakfast) very good and staff extremely helpful. Unfortunately the plumbing left a bit to be desired and for us and some friends who were with us this but a bit of a dampener on the stay. Canal about 200m away and lovely walks/runs and nearby town with some great pubs.

We had a good time over the easter break using the family room for 2 adults and three children (under 7). Quiet and pleasant and within easy reach of Bath (rugby for me!) and Longleat for the kids. BOA good too.

A perfect base to explore the West Country. Large rooms with four poster beds. Fantastic base to visit Bath as most hotels in Bath are very expensive. 20 min walk to train station followed by a 12 min train ride.

We stayed for one night at Widbrook Grange as a stop-off on our way to a holiday cottage. We had a two-bedroom family suite which was perfect for us and our two children (aged 1 and 2) as it meant we were near the kids but not close enough for them to jump on our bed in the morning. The phone monitor system meant that we could have a late dinner for the two of us with the security of being able to hear what was going on in the kids room. The swimming pool was beautifully warm and therefore particularly child-friendly. They have swimming classes on weekday/Saturday mornings which didn't affect us but should be noted on the website. The rooms could do with a lick of paint and the bathrooms were from the 1990s but the pool, the layout of the family suites, the food and the location all made up for this and we will be back next time we want to go to Longleat.

Room Tip: The two-bed family suites are two separate bedrooms connected by a private corridor so you can leave...

We stayed at Widbrook Grange for one night. We were greeted by a very friendly receptionsit who showed us our spacious family room. I have to say I felt the decor was a bit dated, with the hangers in the wardrobe being too big, so you had to hang the clothes on the diagonal for them to fit in and the bathroom was freezing. However the bed was extremely comfortable and we all slept extremely well and I liked that there were bottles of drinking water in the room - a nice touch. The swimming pool is lovely, we were lucky enough to have the pool to ourselves, however I'm not sure it would of been quite so nice if other residents were looking to have a nice quiet swim at the same time. Breakfast the next morning was lovely - there was a lovely museli bar, with lots of different seeds and nuts to choose from, which I thought was a lovely idea. The staff were very pleasant and accomodating, although didn't quite get our order spot on, it certainly was a lovely breakfast. Again check out was dealt with professinally and pleasantly. I have no problems with this hotel, I think its quite expensive compared to others in the area, but the service is great and to me thats quite important. You wouldn't be disappointed if you stayed here.

Room Tip: The rooms in the courtyard are near to the swimming pool, so you can run from the pool to your room...
