I stayed here with my partner and another couple in late summer. The welcome was warm, the rooms perfectly comfortable. However, what makes this place is the hospitality of Nat and Shane, who are superb hosts and the sheer unexpected brilliance of Shane's cooking. Turns out Shane worked for Michel Roux and Michael Caines. This shows in his technique in the kitchen, which is used to deliver hearty and traditional fare. On my visit, a perfect braised Ox cheek with mash and a fantastic, succulent and flavourful herb crusted chicken were the highlights of a great meal. All four of us left delighted and with plans to return. Superb.

Great food and a good wine list. The ambience is charming and the service attentive without being over the top. A pre-prandial drink in the bar is recommended, especially in the winter when the open fire is blazing away!

Just spent one night in the twin room, lots of character and good food. The only slight problem was the noise, this is a gastro pub and while the sounds of the bar and eating rooms in the evening is fairly quiet, the prep in the afternoon/early evening was a bit annoying.(slamming doors from the kitchen?)
We were unfortunate with the weather and spent more time in the room than usual.
All in all I would recommend the Weymouth Arms.

We were a wedding party of 6 and we booked 3 great rooms in this historic inn. The inn was located on a quiet street at the end of town. I actually walked there from the train station with my luggage which was about a 20 minute walk. (Why pay a taxi when I can walk) Natalie and Shane made our stay so pleasant by getting taxis for us, giving us information about the surrounding area and made every effort to accomodate us.

The rooms were nicely furnished and warmed by the towel racks in the bathroom. We didn't understand how to turn them on but Natalie showed us which really warmed up the rooms. Two of the rooms face the street which is fun to see the locals and the other room faced the beautiful garden. Breakfast was very British with blood sausage but the greatest is all the fresh fruit and freshly baked croissants EVERY morning. Also lovely yogurts. Definitely much more than a continental breakfast but a fancy spread every morning with generous pots of coffee and tea. The sitting room where the breakfast if served is cozy with lots of wood and its original fireplace. One could sit for hours enjoying your breakfast.

The pub has excellent meals which is probably the best in town. I can't remember exactly what I had as it was several months ago. Many locals come here to do their special celebrations as the food is so good. By the way, the Indian restaurant in town is very good as well.

Warminster is a very quiet and local town with real British people. Not many tourists. I asked a lady for directions to the post office and she just said it located at "the top of the town". I had to assume that was up. The one thing I did miss in this town was the internet. There was no internet cafe. The library had an internet but a tourist could not sign up. Warminster has its own train station and one can easily reach Bath from here. There is also a great market very close to the train station with which is like a gourmet market.

I would recommended Weymouth Arms to someone who wanted to get away from the tourist attractions and experience a real town. It is minutes away from Bath on train and definitely much quieter and more peaceful.

This was the second time I have stayed at The Weymouth Arms. Both rooms I have stayed in have been stylishly decorated with a good mix of old and new. There are quality bath and shower products and plenty of complimentary water and biscuits! The rooms are also quiet which is remarkable since they are so near to the centre of the town. The beds are dreamily comfy and I recommend the cooked breakfast. I was the only person staying so I felt like a princess!!
Next time I will have dinner as the menu looked tempting.

Room Tip: choose a room with a spa bath.

My boyfriend and I stayed here last weekend and were very satisfied with our stay. The place is located on a quiet road close to the town centre. We were staying in room 1 which doesn't have the spa bath the other reviews rave about but it does have a large, powerful shower which suited us fine. The room is very tastefully decorated, with no expense spared, and the complimentary items added a great touch. We ate at the restaurant on the first night and both really enjoyed our food, the complimentary bread in particular was amazing. Although unlike other similar accomodation a free full English Breakfast isn't provided the continental breakfast they do provide is great. All of the staff, especially the owners, were very welcoming and friendly. The only downsides for us were that the bedroom on the second night was quite cold (the heating wasn't on) and there was noise from the pub and kitchen downstairs but that is to be expected when booking a room above a pub.

Room Tip: Room one doesn't have a spa bath
