visited longleat in august this year.admission very reasonable and you get a passport with all the individual attractions listed.as you go in or on them they are marked off and if you dont have enough time to do everything you can come back and complete them at no extra cost which i reckon is amazing.you can revisit up to end november for the safari park but up to end december if you have not had the chance to visit the main house.not to be missed is feeding the numerous breeds of deer who reach into the cars to eat from your hand, the lake excursion is also a must with the sealions swimming alongside the boat-keep a sharp eye out for the hippos and the famous gorilla who is very sneaky at avoiding public view.all in all an excellent day out-well worth every penny.

“Great day out”
Reviewed August 31, 2009

Loved Longleat. Lots to do. The Passport ticket is well worth getting. Lots of places to enojy a picnic and a great cd to listen to tell you about the safari part as you drive round. A bit of walking around, esp if you do the maze so wear comfy shoes! Well worth a visit but does get busy in hlidays. It opens at 10 and we got there at 10.20 and the safari part was shut till 2. Although we drove down at 1 and they let us in so don't wait till the sign says! (it's not actually shut just busy!)

“Great day out”
Reviewed August 28, 2009

Just back from a visit to family in Bath and decided to spend the day at Longleat. We purchased online to save 5% (wow!) and it is an expensive day out for a family - we paid over 88 pounds for passports for 2 adults, 1 senior and two children but under 3's are free and it is a really great day out.
The place is well signposted and easy to find and parking was well organised.
The grounds are spectacular and the passport gives you access for the whole season (if you live close by that is!). We loved the safari even though the money section was closed - it's amazing to see giraffes and tigers in the heart of the English countryside. And the free CD is excellent - full commentary with cool jungle music to accompany your drive - the kids loved it.
Next we went along to the house which is really beautiful although it would have been better if there had been a guided tour..the guides/guards only spoke when spoken to and unless you bought the guide book (extra 5 pounds) you didn't have a clue what you were looking at.
The rest of the day was spent in Postman Pat village (sweet), the maze (allow 30 mins!), and on the train.
The cellar cafe was busy but the queue moved qucikly and the food was good value and good quality. If you take a picnic ther are lots of beautiful lawns to sit on..
All in all a great day out - Lord Bath has put a lot of thought into Longleat with lots of green intitatives (recycle the CD and brouchures etc) and the whole place isn't over policed - you are free to walk around as you wish...and the cleanest toilets I visited during my time in the UK!
A real slice of living history and well worth a visit!

“Great Day Out”
Reviewed August 19, 2009

As per my other review I do not like zoos but I used to visit Longleat a lot as a child as grandparents stayed in Wiltshire. We managed to get a deal with the hotel booking while in Bath for a few days so slightly cheaper than normal entry pricing. Early part of park okay but usual tourist trap gift shops etc. Smaller animals and birds for you to walk around and view with good information. However get into the car, put the CD in and follow the instructions and directions etc - great idea as the CD can be started and stopped depending on where you are. Our son loved the monkeys especially when one jumped from the back of the (hire) car to the front and gave him a fright - very cheeky - he loved it. Good access to other animals like rhino, lions, tigers etc. Extremely informative. End of drivethrough you get the chance to expolre the grounds further with catering points, amusements, train ride for hippos viewing. All very well done and easily a full day if not more of education, entertainment and fun.

“Get close and personal with Lions and Tigers”
Reviewed July 28, 2009

Spent a day in the Safari Park and grounds while staying at Centre Parcs. Three of our Passport tickets were "bought" using Tesco ClubCard vouchers; the single child ticket bought on-line in advance was also discounted so it was a relatively cheap day out in the end compared with gate prices.
Unfortunately the monkey enclosure was closed but the Lions and Tigers made up for that. As many other reviewers have commented on you are supplied with a CD on arrival in the safari park which is extremely informative as you drive through the park.
We didn't go into the house but did make use of the attractions in the grounds. The boat trip is well worth the effort.
There are a variety of eating places in the park ranging from the usual UK Burger bars to good quality meals.
