“Fantastic!”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

Had a wonderful weekend in this hotel, food is really good, tasty and value for money, rooms are immaculate, comfortable and spacious, staff are polite, friendly and attentive. No noise heard from night club, the only downside is parking may be an issue.

Called into the Anchorage for something to eat after travelling up the Antrim coast on a beautiful May day bank holiday. It was our first time in the Anchorage & where delighted with the overall experience. The decor in the restaurant was very nice, food was excellent, the size of the portions unbelieveable, staff where really friendly & to cap it all the price of the meal made it very good value. We will definitely return to the Anchorage on our next visit to Portstewart & would recommend it to anyone looking for good food at a realistic price.

Stayed one night, the welcome was warm, room was luxurious with large comfortable beds, flat screen tv, well stocked hospitality tray. Shower room was spotless with plenty of towels and toiletries. It was a really cold and frosty night outside but with underfloor heating we felt none of it. Ate in the bar, food was gorgeous and great value at £9.95 for a main, dessert and a glass of wine. Nothing disturbed our sleep even though we slept with the window open. Breakfast was really well cooked. Love the convenience of being so close to the promenade for walks. Would recommend and can't wait to return.

Firstly, its cheap, clean, breakfast is decent and staff are nice. The elephant in the room is the noise in the room. We were in 105 on a friday night and the room was vibrating to the music downstairs - we could have sung along all night to the music if we had wanted. Unfortunately, we were there as a stop-over and wanted to sleep. Several calls went unanswered downstairs. Expect to be kept awake till about 1.30am if your not partaking downstairs.

We were told by the receptionist in the morning that on booking.com it expressly says about the noise - well I might be blind but after looking at it again I see nothing to that effect. Certainly nothing that says "noise is excessive and is clearly heard in the bedrooms". We were also told that most people that stay there are there to enjoy the entertainment - that is frankly a rubbish excuse - if I book a room I expect to be able to use a room whatever way I bloody want..if the rooms are not fit to be used before 1.30am then you can't sell them as hotel rooms.

I can't understand how there aren't more reviews about the noise to be honest

Room Tip: Go for the entertainment, not the sleep
