Reviewed August 21, 2012

We recently spent a week at Arlington House during our visit to Portstewart from Vermont. I cannot recommend this B&B more highly....the rooms were spotless and beautifully appointed, breakfast was first-rate, it was an easy walk to the centre and the sea, and the hosts Maggie and John were welcoming, interesting, and fun! I can't wait to go back.

We stayed for a night in the Garden View room. The B&B is located in quiet residential area and is a short walk from the coast and the main promenade. The B&B was spotless and the room was exactly as described. The room was cheaper than many other B&Bs in the town. It was a quiet room overlooking the garden at the back of the house. Plenty of storage space for clothes and a nice ensuite. Breakfast in the morning was very good, even better than most hotels would offer. There were fresh berries, museli, cereal bars, yogurt, croissants and juice followed by freshly made coffee and the choice of a full fry, scrambled eggs with salmon or poached eggs with toast. It was such a refreshing change to have a healthy alternative for breakfast. Check out was at 11.00am. Would definitely like to return and stay in the room overlooking the ocean as the views from it looked spectacular.

Room Tip: There are 3 rooms to choose from - Sea view, Garden view or twin. All rooms looked great however th...

A quick visit by wife, 2 kids and I brought us to Arlington House. Hosts are wonderful and spoil you. Their approach is a true Irish welcome. Our kids loved the blue room with it's terrific views of the strand. Breakfast was terrific, fantastic Ulster fry, fresh fruit salad...a delight. Maggie took interest in our kids that was genuine and we really felt welcome.

Short walk to both promenade, the strand, golf and the cliff walk....have told all my relatives to stay here....great place.

The stunning view of the Northern Ireland coast from our room alone was worth the trip to Portstewart and the stay at Arlington House. But this beautifully furnished, spotless B&B offered much more. It was a comfortable drive from Belfast and within easy access to the town center and major points of interest like Giant's Causeway and Bushmills Distillery. Maggie and John made us feel at home with their warm reception and easy laughter. Maggie cooked delicious, traditional Irish breakfasts and offered lighter fare, including plenty of fresh fruit. We are already talking about going back.

Room Tip: Rooms look onto the rocky seashore or a quiet garden.

We stayed at Arlington House for 2 nights and had a wonderful time there. The hosts were very helpful, the food was delicious, the room was perfect. There is a lot you can do in this area, but after a day of activities we enjoyed the view from our room to the sea. And in the morning: fresh strawberries, blueberries and raspberries.......

I had the pleasure of staying at Arlington House in May 2012, when No. Ireland was experiencing unusually warm and sunny weather. Warm is the perfect word to describe the reception we had from hosts, Maggie and John McGrath ... from the gorgeous "room with a view" to the delicious breakfast to the expert travel advice ("don't miss the awesome Giant's Causeway"). Conveniently located to the beach, shops and restaurants, it couldn't have been a better experience. I look forward to many more visits!

Room Tip: All of the rooms are brilliant, but the corner "room with a view" is spectacular

My friends and I stayed at Arlington House during our vacation to Ireland in June 2012. I could not have been more pleased. The breakfasts provided by the friendly owners Maggie and John, were the best I have experienced at any B&B's in my travels. The rooms were beautiful, comfortable and spotless. The location was very convenient to shops, restaurants, and pubs. In your travels to Ireland this establishment is a MUST SEE! You will not be disappointed. I plan on going again in the very near future.

Room Tip: I enjoyed the room overlooking the beautiful garden, Very peaceful.
