We stayed for 2 nights in this excellent family run guesthouse. It is situated at a prime location in a quiet street, but very close to centre of the Portstewart as well as the golf course. Ernestine and Tom were fantastic hosts, and we were welcomed to their house with a hot coffee and fantastic homemade scones. Our room was very luxurious, speaceous and spotless with a fantastic view. Highly recommended!

We chose the Strand for our 3 night break as our friends were getting married at the Portstewart golf club. Location was fantastic, 5 mins walk if that. The guest house is stunning, beautifully presented, but still very homely. Our room was fantastic too, very spacious and again the decor was superb. Bathroom no exception, everything was just perfect.
Bill & Ernestine were perfect hosts, very friendly as were all the staff nothing was too much trouble. The breakfasts were very tasty, with fresh fruit to start followed by a full Irish. We never ate lunch, the breakfast set us up for the day.
Would stay again, it's definatley the best place to stay in Portstewart.

Room Tip: We had the 'red Sails' room, at the front of the house, just perfect.

I can't recommend this place highly enough. We stayed for just one night and left feeling relaxed and refreshed. We were met by Geraldine who fixed us up with fresh coffee and scones and even rang me a few minutes later to check if there was anything else she could do for us. Our room was spotless, luxurious and comfortable, even with a bit of a seaview. Stunning bathroom with gorgeous organic toiletries, bathrobes and slippers. Breakfast is out of this world, far better than any hotels we have stayed in. Everything is freshly prepared as you order ( colossal cafetiere of strong coffee, right up my street) and the service is warm and relaxed; you really feel welcome. We will certainly be returning to The Strand and for longer next time.

We have stayed in many B&Bs and feel this is the best one EVER for us!! It is welcoming, clean, great rooms and wonderful food. BUT, the BEST is Ernestine and Tom!!!!! They are the MOST welcoming and friendly hosts we have ever met. The house is close to the Portstewart golf course--you can walk--and not far from the town. Ernestine will tell you where to go and what is the best place to have dinner. You will not be disappointed!!

I came across the Strand on trip advisor, impressed by the ratings but unsure how my golf buddies would enjoy a B&B. Not to worry, Ernestine and Tom delivered big time. Right by the first tee at Portstewart golf club, the Strand is a gem. Rooms are new and big, and they pay attention to the details from the towels to the flatscreen TV in each room. They were very helpful, booking us dinner upon arrival and Ernestine even drove us to the village. Breakfast was tremendous also. It was a perfect stop and our group was very pleased to have rested ourselves at this wonderful guest house. Everything you need is here at this waterfront winner.
