Arrived with out booking , looking for dinner on a saturday evening, not a problem, staff couldnt be nicer, shown to a table straight away, ordered starters and a main meal, service was good, wine was chilled and not expensive, food arrived well presented, plenty of it and delicious, had a lovely rib eye for my main course , go and enjoy, grat value.

I've been playing at Castlerock now for several years and the course while challenging is amazing. There's 2 courses, the 9 hole Bann Course which is very tight and has breathtakingly views out towards Donegal & Portrush. In addition there's the 18 hole Mussenden championship course, tough for even the most discerning golfer.
I've also got a 5 star holiday let in Castlerock, (Tara Lodge, sleeps 8) and many of my guests are golfers from all over the world and they just love this course.
You can book good quality caddies through the Pro Shop if you want some help along the way, certainly recommended if this is your first time. From the Pro Shop you can book buggies, electric or pull trolleys and there's a good selection of golfing gear.
The club provides good wholesome food and of course there's the 19 hole which is mandatory for a cool drink after your 4-5 hour challenge!!!
While there's more famous golf courses not far away, many of my guests consider Castlerock to be as good as, if not better!!.

The food here has really gone down hill. The owner won't listen to advice on how to improve. You can wait for a very long time for what is mostly deep fried food !

If you are taking a golf trip to Northern Ireland, this is a hidden gem not to be missed. I was there last week with 3 golf buddies and we and an awesome time...or as they say over there, it was LOVELY!
Course was great, caddies were great (and a lot of fun) - one of the best days of our entire week!
Royal County Down and Royal Portrush were special tracks, but we had the most fun on this course!!!
