Went here early in a Sunday morning when there weren’t too many people about. By the time we were coming back the car park was full.
It’s a beautiful walk along the river where we saw fish jumping, various birds, squirrels and most impressively we saw a couple of Herrons.
A lovely autumnal walk!!

Roe Valley can be as relaxing as you want it to be. Just sit by the river bank and enjoy the sounds of the water sweeping past or walk along the wooded paths and enjoy the scenary. Either way youll soon be absorbed into the peaceful surroundings. We take our little yorkie here for long walks in all kinds of weather. Each time we discover something new and as the seasons change the park takes on a different personality. Its a great place to go to go and enjoy nature at its best.

We went on the circular walk along this Riverside woodland on a damp day. We took the more difficult route which did not prove too difficult until you pass through the churchyard when the path is bad and caution should be taken. However we really enjoyed the walk & did not get too wet as the trees provide good cover. The is a visitors centre there which provides welcome all day breakfast, snacks etc. We had 2 sausage cobs, just the job. Recommend this walk, there are easier walks too.

Have lived near the Roe valley country park all my life and it has always been great place to get out and go on a adventure should it be a walk with the dog or a picnic with family and friends the smell of the country air does the body & soul good.

The place is steeped in Celtic history and lore with old ruins of the O'Cahan's Clan's where you can follow the local myth of the dog belonging to one of the Chiefs that jumped the river to get help from nearby clans after a surprise enemy attack which gave the place it's famous name The Dog Leap.

There is a multitude of different paths you can take suited to all levels of fitness or if you fancy a walk on the wild side you can take a stroll off the beaten path with many of the dirt paths carved out by all who walked before you.

If walking ain't your thing at the center of the park there's a verity of animals in a enclosure that you can walk all the way around that you can bring your children to see the paths at the center are more wheelchair friendly for anyone with a disability all a stones throw away from The Ritters tea room where you can get a warm meal or a quick cuppa and a scone they also take booking for private functions and work doo's

My family and I always love going to the Row Valley Country Park for a wander, picnic, photos, skimming stones on the river, watching the fish jump, exploring the ruins/buildings through the forest. Collecting leaves or things of interest to make pictures with. I spy is a great family game to play down here as there is so much to see. This has been a family favorite adventure for generations and hopefully will continue to be. Wrap up, put ur wellies on, pack a picnic & get down to the woods, such a beautiful place.

A quiet place to walk and contemplate life. Dirt tracks - so wear trainers or hiking boots (not smart shoes). Long trousers recommended due to kicks and nettles.

Seldom I am sure do you get a review directed at a toilet block in particular. Here's one now. The outside of the block is neat and unassuming, but inside the fresh smell of disinfectant greets you. Facilities (ladies from personal experience) are spotless - much credit to cleaning staff - and ultra modern with no touch flush and no touch handwashing. Such an unexpected and pleasant experience in a public place.

Elsewhere, the country park is a much loved venue of ours for many years, with the river displaying crashing torrents, deep pools and gentle meanders over its length. Lots of parking and picnic tables enhance the day out - we never avail of the cafe being from the nearby area so cannot comment.
