I am a professional tour operator/guide and stay in many bed and breakfast inns across Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales ... and have found very few to challenge Ballycarton House for grand hospitality, from welcoming, to suggestions for touring and dinner, to a wonderful run through of the houses many, varied and unique amenities; excellent quiet location, well-placed for the coast, Messenden Temple, the Roe Valley, etc.; spotless cleanliness throughout; grand rooms with comfy, supportive beds; scrumptious breakfast in a wonderful solarium with views of the garden. I can't say enough good things about Patricia's 5-star B&B. If you are in the north of Ireland, we highly recommend Ballycarton House B&B as your most-comfortable base of operations!

Room Tip: Ask for the room with the view of the table-top mountain just behind!

Stayed here for a few days with my family in December! Patricia really made us feel at home & our children just loved it too. Would highly recommend this location for seeing the best of the North Coast!

All in all, a beautiful home in a stunning location!

This is the second time i have stayed at the Ballycarton, the first time was with my daughter and her husband and my two grand children. We all had an excellent stay, the children loved playing in the garden and we enjoyed the lovely peace and quiet that you get with the beautiful surroundings, Patricia made us all feel so very welcome, hence my solo return 3 weeks later! i have stayed in hotels around the world and i can honestly say that i have not had a more friendly welcome and felt at home so much before. i will be travelling to ireland every few weeks and will definitely be staying at the Ballycarton every time. it is ideally situated for the west coast and all the attractions to visit which the hotel provide pamphlets and patricia will always let u know of some interesting places to visit.
this is totally ideal for families or couples or even going solo you will have a fabulous visit.

Our 2nd stay here and every bit as pleasant as the first. We missed out last year because of being too slow to reserve. The house is immaculate, we were made extremely welcome and the room has everything we needed.

The location is perfect for walks along Benone beach, Musenden Temple and Magilligan Point before breakfast - or after!!

Thank you Patricia, see you next time.

We were touring the coastal trail and only stayed one night here with Patricia but would have been happy to stay longer. We arrived early evening and the rain was pelting down. Patricia settled us into our rooms and then served gorgeous scones and tea down in the guest lounge, lighting the fire for us and popping the TV on. Great way to warm up and relax after the rainy day we'd had.

The house is set in the countryside with gorgeous views (once the rain ceased long enough for us to see it). There is ample parking and the house was easy to find. Our rooms were comfortable and clean, good TV and there is a guest honesty bar for snacks and drinks so you can help yourself.

Breakfast was generous and lots of choice for all, including vegetarians. We were on our way again in the morning but I would be happy to stay again when I'm back in the area.
