“Great little find at a good price”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 15, 2012

We quite often look for somewhere to stay near/in the Midlands as my in-laws live there. We find a little hotel and often book an extra room for the weekend and take them off exploring. This weekend we fancied popping to Stratford and Warwick so this hotel was in an ideal location.

We found the hotel on Booking.com, but as usual looked for a website. Boy are we glad we did. On their offer page they had a great deal - £100 for 3 nights, B&B per couple and £20 off an evening meal. Bargain.

The hotel has recently been refurbed, in fact they were putting some finishing touches together while we were there - it did not disturb us in the slightest.

The rooms are big and airy. Beds nice and large and comfy. Decent size, modern bathroom. Large flat screen TV and chairs and seating area. Everything you could want.

There is a bar and a separate restaurant. We had an evening meal in the bar which was ok, nothing special. However, the breakfast is really good with plenty of choice.

A couple of not so good points - there were dogs everywhere. I like dogs, but not fussed on them guffing and barking at me when I'm eating my tea. It may have been because of Crufts in the NEC, but still it wasn't very nice - or hygenic. Also there are only 2 disabled parking bays which just weren't enough. We struggled on a quiet weekend, no chance of getting a bay if it's busy.

Other than that it was a great stay. Brilliantly helpful staff, especially the barmaid who was lovely and helpful - sorry I didn't get her name!(she was blonde and smiled a lot).

Would stay again - absolutely no doubt.

Room Tip: We had downstairs rooms and they were lovely. Room 32 had an enormous bed.

Lovely hotel, our room was in the new building and was immaculate. Lovely view from our window. Very comfortable beds. Immaculately clean throughout. Huge spacious rooms. Very helpful and friendly staff both in reception and dining areas. Excellent large car park right next to the rooms. I enjoyed my stay so much I booked a second visit. I stayed two nights on both occasions and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Hotel close to Stratford upon avon and other attractions. I cant recommend this hotel enough.

Room Tip: Rooms in the newly built part.....upper floors had great views across grassland and trees....

Staff were helpful and friendly - a dog-friendly hotel and ideally situated for the NEC - other guests recommended eating at The Moat House which we did on the second evening which was much nicer (and fantastic value).

Room Tip: Ask for a chalet room if you have a dog.

Great hotel, lovely large rooms, fantastic bathrooms. Staff very friendly throughout the hotel, bar & restaurant. Twenty minutes walk into Alcester where there are a handful of pubs (some serving food) & a couple of Indian restaurants (Cardamom very good).

Hotel food very good (not the largest of portions though), perhaps a little pricy compared to normal pub meals. Breakfast is buffet style with a fantastic choice, fruits, yoghurts, cereals, traditional English cooked, toast, pastrys & numerous juices.

Excellent location to visit Stratford upon Avon, Warwick, Leamington Spa.

Would definately return next time in that area & would recommend highly.

A lovely hotel, that has new modern, clean, fresh rooms. The weekend receptionist was very friendly as were all bar and dining staff that we encountered during our stay. Yes as previously mentioned better toiletries in the bathroom would be nice but wasnt the be all and end all. We have had a relaxing stay where staff leave you to your own devices but where if you need their assistance they are efficient and happy to help.

Room Tip: make sure you ask for a room in the new part of the hotel and on the first floor as there is a littl...

We stayed here with my godparents and we couldn't fault anything. The receptionist was wonderful and very helpful, the premier rooms lovely, the service at dinner faultless and the food at dinner and breakfast excellent. We will have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone.

We live locally and decided to book a room here so our babysitter could stay at our house. We were going to book the Travelodge but at last minute I thought about here. We paid £32 for the both us to stay and have breakfast. I had to ask the reception 3 times about the price as I couldnt believe it was so cheap! The Travelodge wanted £60! Emma checked us in and she was charming and very helpful. Our room was spot on. Very clean and there was plenty of clean towels. Also there was lots of tea, coffee and milk. We were in the new extended block and will stay again. Absolute bargain. Breakfast was worth the fee alone. Plenty of food, morning papers and as much tea, coffee juice as you pleased. We really enjoyed our stay!
