We had a meal here on a very busy weekend, the steak was yummy and although busy the staff were helpful and friendly. Good value for money and good sized portions. The food was well cooked and fresh. Nice clean pub with a lovely atmosphere.

Whilst camping at the CLA Game fair at Ragley Hall we went into Alcester of an evening and having sniffed around the 3 or 4 real ale pubs on the High Street we elected to pop in to the Turks Head. A reasonable choice of beer/cider on the hand pump. The menu was an eclectic mix of "pub grub" and "international" cuisine. Ordered as sharing a whitebait and calamari starter and a goats cheese, caramelised onion and rocket pizza - on a very hot evening. The starter would have done as a main - perfectly fried whitebait and calamari strips served with a salad and lemon mayonnaise. Marvelous!! The hand made pizza was simply divine. It is a pub with dining and full of locals with friendly staff who are happy to accommodate the needs/wishes of customers. A Dutch/Belgian man was on a nearby table and wanted extra ham on his pizza - no problem. No worries on us sharing our food. Whole menu very reasonably priced with excellent quality across the board as far as we could tell. "Modern" décor within a medieval building (complete with the odd clear panel that allowed you to see the wattle and daub construction).

We found this little gem, whilst strolling through the quaint village of Alcester. We stopped for lunch...the staff were very polite, sat in the lovely garden, there was a great choice of food which arrived promply after ordering. The food was fresh, delicious and plentiful. We returned for a drink the following evening, as we were so impressed. A word of advice...DONT GO TO THE ROYAL OAK, down the road. We were sold crisps that were a month out of date (2 packets of different flavours) and when we informed the manager, he couldnt have cared less. He didnt offer a refund or a complimentary drink to say 'sorry'...he actually thought it was funny! Not impressed!!

Came for the weekend for my birthday and left it a bit late to book a place to eat. Using trusty TripAdvisor went for another restaurant in the town. Unfortunately it didn't look as nice as we thought so rang the Turks Head. They managed to squeeze us in and we sat in the main bar. First the food- We what a find the foid was excellent. The starter was fantastic and the main cooked to perfection and served pipping hot. Second the service- The staff were welcoming polite and friendly. We didn't feel rushed and yhr atmosphere was lovely. Thank uou Turks Head for a lovely birthday meal!
