“Excellent choices”

First time at buffet lunch here. Wealth of choice for help yourself cold starters. Option of two different soups. I could have had the starter happily for mains as well. Usual meat, potato and veg choices or for vegetarians dishes which were ordered on arrival. One quibble here though as four options were on menu and only two were actually available. Pepper choice was good though it arrived long before others got to front of queue for their meat. It would help if meat was sliced ready for people to help themselves. Fantastic array of desserts so hard to make a choice. Tea or coffee to finish. Will be back.

I am delighted to read you enjoyed your Sunday Carvery at the Lodge Hotel. Thank you for highlighting there were 4 options on the vegetarian menu yet only 2 were available. This was a mistake on our part and the menu has been amended accordingly. We appreciate your feedback and look forward to welcoming you again soon for a second visit.

We went for something to eat, and were delighted to notice on the table a £12.50 deal. You get a mains and either starter or sweet and coffee. We went for mains and desert. My desert was the biggest i have ever seen in my life! Food excellent and staff very nice. Tip - allow time as this was a very busy place when we were in just before 6pm.

We got married back in June and we had our wedding reception at the Lodge Hotel, I have nothing but praise for the service we received running up to our wedding and the big day itself. If anyone is considering here for there reception please do so as it was perfect. Carol the manager could not have done enough for us, she put my wife to be at ease as the big day drew closer and I cannot state clearly enough how good and efficient she is. I hope the owners realize the gem they have as a manager and give her a well deserved pay rise. On the day itself the staff were fantastic, everything was timed perfectly, the room was lovely and the food was delicious. I wanted to play a prank on one of the guests to do with his seating arrangement and Carol was only too happy to oblige and everyone had a real good laugh. TBH as with many weddings you do get the odd hic up but I can honestly say this was not the case with the Lodge, Carol was more like a friend the whole time we dealt with her and knowing she was there herself on our big day we knew we could relax even more. So a very big thank you to all the staff at the Lodge and especially to Carol for helping to make our perfect day perfect.

Thank you for choosing the Lodge Hotel as your wedding venue, it was our privilege to share your special day. I am delighted to read you have nothing but praise for the service you received both in the run up to your wedding and on the actual day.
It will be my pleasure to share your kind comments with all the staff and to Carol in particular who has been with us for many years and indeed an asset to this hotel. Once again thank you for your kind words and we look forward to welcoming you and your wife back to the Lodge Hotel.

We stayed one night B&B on the 24th July 2014. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean, a reasonable size and the en suite a good size. The breakfast choice was good and food enjoyable. The hotel is getting a little bit worn, but don't let that put you off. We stayed in room 103 and the noise level from outside when we stayed was no problem.

Interesting hotel - some things were good but some things left much to be desired. As in most hotels in this area, there's no air conditioning in the room. With global warming, the hotels have
minimal ventilation causing stuffy rooms. We were fortunate to get the ONLY fan in the hotel which allowed us to sleep ok. If you're in any way handicapped, you're going to have trouble. No lifts or elevators for people on crutches or wheelchairs. The bathtub is so high I don't know how a person would get into it and the floor of the tub is too slick, causing slippage.
Do NOT get a room on the street side or you'll be up all night with street noise.
The hotel needs modernization badly - example worn out carpeting. Though they did have many outlets for electronic devices.

Room Tip: Do not get a room on the street side - it's too noisy. Bring your own wash-cloths to Ireland...

Thank you for taking the time to post a review on Tripadvisor. Sadly our climate differs from yours in Florida and therefore air conditioning is not a necessity in Northern Ireland. I am glad you were offered one of our fans which enabled you to sleep okay. As for your comment regarding our hotel is not suitable for those with a disability, I must point out we do have two ground floor disabled guest rooms with ensuite wet rooms, we also have ground floor rooms with showers as opposed to baths for the less abled. Our Restaurants, Bar, Toilet Facilities and Hair & Beauty Salons are all accessible for guests with disabilities. However, you are correct in pointing out we do not have lifts at this hotel. Thank you for your detailed review and I do hope you enjoyed the rest of your trip.

We stayed in The Lodge Hotel (46 People) last week while visiting gardens etc in the area. The bedrooms spacious, beds very comfortable and rooms attended to daily. The menu was varied and the meals delicious. Staff could not have been more helpful. This is a hotel we will be recommending to others !
